, the House of Representatives of Japan is elected from a combination of multi-member districts and single-member districts, a method called parallel voting. Currently, 176 members are elected from 11 multi-member districts (called proportional representation blocks or PR blocks) by a party-list system of proportional representation (PR), and 289 members are elected from single-member districts, for a total of 465. 233 seats are therefore required for a majority. Kiyota-ku, Sapporo
is one of the 10 wards in Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan. It is translated as "pure" or "clean" for "清", and "(rice) field" for "田". The ward was split from Toyohira-ku on November 4, 1997. Toyohira-ku, Sapporo
is one of the 10 wards in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. The ward was established in 1972, when the Sapporo Olympics was held in Sapporo. Four other wards in Sapporo are bounded on Toyohira-ku. As of April 1, 2012, the ward has an estimated population of 214,437, with 109,510 households and a population density of 4,626.47 persons per km2. The total area is 46.35 km2. Kenko Matsuki
is a Japanese politician and a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet. Political career A native of Sapporo, Hokkaido and graduate of Aoyama Gakuin University, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2003 after unsuccessful runs in 1996 and 2000. In 2010, Matsuki was expelled from the Democratic Party of Japan for voting in favor of a no-confidence motion in then-Prime Minister Naoto Kan. He was expelled from the party the same day and served the rest of the term as an independent. He ran for reelection in 2012 and 2013 as a member of the New Party Daichi, but lost. Higashi-ku, Sapporo
is one of the 10 wards in Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan. It is directly translated as "east ward", and is neighboured to Kita-ku, Chūō-ku, Shiroishi-ku, Ebetsu, Tōbetsu. Kita-ku, Sapporo
is a ward of Sapporo composed of residential neighborhoods mostly arranged in grid patterns, and each built surrounding a train station, broken up by areas of farmland and some light-industrial areas. With 260,000 people, it is the most populated ward in Sapporo. Geography Kita-ku is located in the northern part of Sapporo. The southern end of the ward is more built up, essentially a continuation of the adjoining Chūō-ku ("central ward," downtown Sapporo). Ishikari River runs through and borders the northern part of Kita-ku.
