Shigeru Ota
Shigeru Ota (; born 8 January 1967) is a Japanese former professional tennis player. Ota appeared in four Davis Cup ties for Japan between 1988 and 1990, winning one singles and one doubles rubber. In 1990 he played in one of the longest fifth sets in Davis Cup history, which he and Shuzo Matsuoka lost 16–18 to India's Zeeshan Ali and Leander Paes. Shuzo Matsuoka
is a retired Japanese professional tennis player, sports commentator, entertainer, and motivational speaker. A former Wimbledon quarter-finalist, Matsuoka won one singles title during his career, in Seoul in 1992. In the same year, he reached a career-high ranking of world No. 46. After his tennis career, he became known online for a series of short motivational videos, some edited by fans. Professional career Matsuoka turned professional in 1986. In 1989, he finished runner-up in the top-level tournament at Wellington, and captured the doubles title in Auckland. 1991 saw Matsuoka achieve his career-best Masters result, when he reached the quarter-finals of the 1991 Canada Masters in Montreal, beating Michael Chang in a dramatic 3-set battle en route. Zeeshan Ali
Zeeshan Ali (born 1 January 1970) is a former Indian Davis Cup player who also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. The right-hander reached his highest singles ATP ranking on 12 December 1988, when he became the number 126 of the world when he was still 3 weeks short of his 19th birthday. Career He remained in the top 130 (with the exception of a couple of weeks) until August 1992. His singles highlights in 1988 included winning the Indian Satellite Circuit, making R2 of the ATP tour event in Schenectady (losing to Johan Kriek in R2) and at the Seoul Olympics (where he lost to Jacob Hlasek in R2), making the finals of a Challenger in New Haven, Connecticut (losing to Vijay Amritraj) and the semifinal of a Challenger in Indonesia. Leander Paes
Leander Adrian Paes ( ; born 17 June 1973) is an Indian former professional tennis player and the first Asian man to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. He is regarded as one of the greatest doubles tennis players of all-time and holds the record for the most doubles wins in the Davis Cup. Paes won eight men's doubles and ten mixed doubles Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam titles. He holds a career Grand Slam in men's doubles and mixed doubles making him one of only three men in the Open era to achieve this distinction and won the rare men's/mixed double at the 1999 Wimbledon Championships.
