is a railway station on the Shinano Railway Line in the city of Tōmi, Nagano, Japan, operated by the Public–private partnership#Japan, third-sector railway operating company Shinano Railway. The Battle of Shigino, fought in the final months of 1614, was one battle during the Siege of Osaka, a campaign by the Tokugawa shogunate to destroy or subjugate the last resistance to its power, the Toyotomi clan. History Five thousand Tokugawa troops, led by Uesugi Kagekatsu, engaged 2000 troops loyal to the Toyotomi at a place called Shigino, across the Yamato River (now called the Neyagawa) from the site of the Battle of Imafuku, which took place several weeks earlier. The Tokugawa troops received reinforcements from Niwa Nagashige and Horio Tadaharu, whose forces included a number of arquebusiers. Shuichi Shigeno
is a Japanese manga artist famous for creating '' Initial D''. Shigeno has also created '' Bari Bari Densetsu'', ''Dopkan'', and ''Tunnel Nuketara Sky Blue'' ("First Love in Summer"). In 1985, he received the Kodansha Manga Award in shōnen for ''Bari Bari Densetsu''. Early life Shuichi Shigeno was born in , , Niigata Prefecture. When Shigeno was in high school, he was obsessed with motorcycles, which resulted in one of his best-selling series, '' Bari Bari Densetsu''. Before Shigeno became a manga artist, he was a poor student.
