Sheryl Franks
Sheryl Franks (born May 26, 1961 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American former pair skater who competed with Michael Botticelli. The couple won the bronze medal at the United States Figure Skating Championships four consecutive times (from 1977–80), won the Eastern US Pairs Championship in 1977-79, and placed ninth in the World Championships in 1977-79, and 10th in 1980. They finished seventh at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. Franks subsequently became a skating coach, forming The Sheryl Franks Creative Skating Academy in West Newton, Massachusetts, and choreographed for future Olympian for Israel Aimee Buchanan. NHK Trophy
The NHK Trophy is an international, senior-level figure skating competition held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. Organized by the Japanese Skating Federation, it began in 1979 and was added to the Grand Prix series in 1995, the series' inaugural year. Nebelhorn Trophy
The Nebelhorn Trophy is an international senior-level figure skating competition organized by the Deutsche Eislauf-Union and held annually in Oberstdorf, Germany. It became part of the ISU Challenger Series in the 2014–15 season. The competition is named after the Nebelhorn, a nearby mountain. It is usually one of the first international senior competitions of the season. Skaters are entered by their respective national federations and compete in four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dancing. The Fritz-Geiger-Memorial Trophy is presented to the team with the highest placements across all disciplines. The World Figure Skating Championships (''"Worlds"'') is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Aimee Buchanan (born June 11, 1993) is an American-Israeli former competitive figure skater who competed in ladies' singles for Israel. She is a two-time Israeli national champion and competed in the team event at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Early life Buchanan was born and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, and subsequently lived in Lexington, Massachusetts, and Euless, Texas. Buchanan's mother Wendy is Jewish and is from Israel, as are both of her maternal grandparents, and Buchanan is and also identifies as Jewish. She attended synagogue on the High Holidays and Hebrew school for a few years, before sports became too demanding. She attended Endicott College and the United States Sports Academy, studying for a B.S. in Strength and Conditioning. In 2014, she became a dual American-Israeli citizen.
