The Shire of Sherwood is a former local government areas of Queensland, local government area of Queensland, Australia, located in south-western Brisbane in and around the suburb of Sherwood, Queensland, Sherwood. History On 11 November 1879, the Yeerongpilly Division was created as one of 74 divisions within Queensland under the ''Divisional Boards Act 1879''. On 16 October 1886, parts of Yeerongpilly Division were excised to create Stephens Division (later Shire of Stephens). On 24 January 1891, further parts of Yeerongpilly Division were excised to create Sherwood Division (later Shire of Sherwood). With the passage of the ''Local Authorities Act 1902'', Sherwood became a Shire on 31 March 1903. On 1 October 1925, the Shire of Sherwood was amalgamated into the City of Brisbane. Sherwood Park is a large hamlet in Alberta, Canada within Strathcona County that is recognized as an urban service area. It is adjacent to the City of Edmonton's eastern boundary. While long confined to generally south of Highway 16 ( Yellowhead Trail), west of Highway 21 and north of Highway 630 (Wye Road), portions of Sherwood Park have expanded beyond Yellowhead Trail and Wye Road since the start of the 21st century. Anthony Henday Drive (Highway 216) separates Refinery Row, in a portion of the Sherwood Park Urban Service Area to the west, from the residential and commercial hamlet to the east. Sherwood Dam, known also as Lake Sherwood Dam, Alturas Dam, and Potrero Dam, is a concrete arch dam in the Santa Monica Mountains near Thousand Oaks, California. Completed in 1904, its construction led to the creation of the Potrero Lake (since renamed Lake Sherwood) over the following winter. It was the first reservoir of its size in the area, and remains one of the oldest standing dams in California. History Construction was led by W. H.
