Sherifa Gunu
Sherifa Gunu is a Ghanaian soul musician. She was born a princess into a royal family of the Kingdom of Dagbon, in the Northern Region of Ghana. Gunu had interest in music and dance during his childhood days. Sherifa has been in various dancing competition at the regional and national level. Early life Sherifa Gunu hwas born in the Kingdom of Dagbon in the Northern Region of Ghana into a royal family. She left school at an early stage and later competed in both regional and national dance competitions. Musical career Sherifa Gunu became the northern Regional dance champion and the first runner up in the 1998 Embassy Pleasure, a popular national dance championship in the 1990s. She later participated in the 2003 Hiplife dance championship with the likes of King Ayisoba and Terry Bonchaka. Gunu became the first runner up to Terry Bonchaka in the finals of the championship. Savelugu
Savelugu is a town and the capital of Savelugu Municipal, a municipality in the Northern Region of north Ghana. Savelugu has a 2012 settlement population of 38,074 people. There are many villages under Savelugu kingship. Most of the villages are smaller. History In the 19th-century Savelugu was the center of one of the major divisions of the Dagomba and ruled over by Andani who was involved in fighting with the raiding forces of the Zabarima (emirate). Zongo Settlements
Zongo settlements are areas in West African towns populated mostly by migrants from the northern savannah regions and the West African Sahel, especially from northern Nigeria. Common features of the zongo communities are their use of Hausa language as lingua franca and their shared religion: Islam. The designation of these wards of migrants as ''zongos'' derives from the Hausa word ''zango'' which literally means "a camping place for trading caravans". The National Theatre was opened in 1992 to spearhead the Theatre movement in Ghana by providing a multi-functional venue for concerts, dance, drama and musical performances, screenplays, exhibitions and special events.
