Sheikh Ibrahim Khaleel
Sheikh Malam Ibrahim Khaleel is an Islamic scholar based in Kano State, Nigeria, who has expressed interest in running for governor of the state in the 2011 elections. When questioned on whether the then governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, supported Sheikh Khaleel, the Secretary of the Kano State chapter of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) said that the governor had not decided on any candidate. Kano State

Ibrahim Shekarau
Ibrahim Shekarau (born 5 November 1955) was a former Nigerian minister of education and two-term Governor of Kano State in Nigeria. He was elected in April 2003 and reelected in April 2007. He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He was one of the candidates who aspired to become president in the Nigerian general elections of 2011. Early life and education Shekarau was born in the Kurmawa quarters of Kano, the son of a police officer. He was educated at Gidan Makama Primary School (1961–1967), then at Kano Commercial College (1967–1973) and finally at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1973–1977) where he received a Degree in Mathematics/Education.
