Charles Christopher Sheats
Charles Christopher Sheats (April 10, 1839 – May 27, 1904) was an attorney and politician, elected as a U.S. Representative from Alabama. He previously had served as the consul to Elsinore, Denmark, as the United States worked to expand trade in the Baltic Sea area. Early life, education and career Born to a planter family in Walker County, Alabama, Sheats was educated in a local school for the gentry. Becoming involved in politics, at the age of 21, Sheats was elected as a member of the secession convention in 1860 but he refused to sign the ordinance of secession. David Sheats
Mr. DJ (born David Sheats) is an American hip-hop producer and DJ from Atlanta. He and Outkast members Big Boi and André 3000 make up the record production company Earthtone III. Biography Raised on the southside of College Park, Georgia, Mr. DJ attended Banneker High School. He entered the music industry as a DJ for Atlanta-based hip-hop group Outkast. According to Sheats, After touring with the group for a year, he began to focus more on production rather than deejaying. By sharpening his beat making skills, Mr. DJ got the opportunity to help produce Outkast's 1996 second album ''ATLiens''. Following his work on OutKast's “ Elevators (Me & You)” and several songs from their album ''Aquemini'', Mr. DJ formed Earthtone III production group with Andre 3000 & Big Boi. Robert Sheats
Robert Carlton Sheats (September 30, 1915 – March 9, 1995) was an American Master Diver in the United States Navy. He enlisted in the Navy in 1935 and retired in July 1966. Career World War II In 1941, while Sheats was serving as a First Class Diver aboard the submarine tender USS ''Canopus'' in the Philippines, the ship was severely damaged by Japanese planes during the Battle of Bataan. After the ship was scuttled, to prevent its capture by enemy forces, Sheats joined the ground forces defending Bataan and Corregidor. On May 6, 1942, Sheats and his men were captured and taken as prisoners of war. During his imprisonment at Bataan, Sheats and several members of his team were pressed into service as salvage divers by the Japanese to recover silver coins worth over $8 million (in 1942) that had been dumped by a U.S. Navy vessel between Manila Bay and the island of Corregidor when capture of the vessel by the Japanese was inevitable.
