Shayna Powless
Shayna Powless (born January 8, 1994) is an American professional racing cyclist. She is of Oneida heritage through her father and is a citizen of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin. She grew up in Sacramento, California and played a variety of sports whilst growing up, but initially gravitated towards mountain bike racing during her high school years. In 2013 Powless was crowned Under-23 US national mountain bike champion in her first season in that age category. She took up road bicycle racing when she joined the cycling team at the University of California, Los Angeles. She signed to ride for the UCI Women's Team for the 2019 women's road cycling season. She is the daughter of Olympic marathon runner Jen Allred and the sister of fellow racing cyclist Neilson Powless. She has been in a relationship with Canadian American football player Eli Ankou since 2013, after the couple met at UCLA: as of 2021 the couple were engaged. Eglin Air Force Base
Eglin Air Force Base is a United States Air Force (USAF) base in the western Florida panhandle, located about southwest of Valparaiso, Florida, Valparaiso in Okaloosa County, Florida, Okaloosa County. The host unit at Eglin is the 96th Test Wing (formerly the 96th Air Base Wing). The 96 TW is the test and evaluation center for Air Force air-delivered weapons, navigation and guidance systems, command and control systems, and Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) systems. Jen Allred
Jeanette M. Allred-Powless (born December 17, 1961) is a Guamanian former long-distance runner. She competed in the women's marathon at the 1992 Summer Olympics. She also competed for Guam in seven World Athletics Championships and won three golds and a silver at the South Pacific Games. She was educated at American River College, California State University, Northridge, the University of North Florida and California State University, Sacramento. She set several age-group world records at Sacramento. After retiring from competition she took up coaching, acting as coach of the men's and women's running programs at Sierra College before joining her ''alma mater'' American River College in 2000 as head coach for women's track and field and cross country, where she led her track and field team to the third state title in ARC's history in 2007. The Tour of the Gila is a cycling stage race for both men and women located in New Mexico, United States. It is sponsored by the component maker SRAM. The "Gila" began in 1987. Beginning in 2012, the men's Gila has been added to the UCI America Tour as a UCI classification 2.2 stage race, which permits UCI ProTeams to enter if they so choose; beginning in 2015, the women's Gila has also been added to the women's UCI international tour as a UCI classification 2.2 stage race. Beginning in Silver City, New Mexico, the men's course covers around over five days, while the women's course covers about less. United States National Road Race Championships
The United States National Professional Road Race Championships began in 1985. They are run by the governing body, USA Cycling. Until 2006 the race was open to all nationalities, the first American to finish being named the winner and given a distinctive jersey. Since the championship in Greenville, South Carolina, in 2006, all riders have had to be American. Before 1985, only the amateur champions were named. From 1921 to 1964, the Amateur Bicycle League of America (ABLA) National Championships were held as an omnium of track-style events for Men, Women, and Juniors, rather than as a road race.
