Shawn Lauvao
Shawn Sisifo Lauvao (born October 26, 1987) is an American former professional football player who was a guard in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft. He played college football for the Arizona State Sun Devils. College career Lauvao started his last 33 games at Arizona State—17 at left guard, 12 at left tackle and four at right tackle. He earned Second Team All-Pac-10 honors during his junior and senior years. Professional career Pre-draft Although playing the left tackle spot in college, Lauvao projected as a guard in the NFL. In American football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is an Lineman (gridiron football), offensive line player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles. Like other offensive line positions, guards are used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Notable guards in the National Football League include Chris Lindstrom (Atlanta Falcons), Quentin Nelson (Indianapolis Colts), and Joe Thuney (Chicago Bears). The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. 2015 Washington Redskins Season
The 2015 season was the Washington Redskins' 84th in the National Football League (NFL), their second under head coach Jay Gruden and their first under general manager Scot McCloughan. Quarterback Robert Griffin III suffered a concussion during the second preseason game and consequently missed the rest of the preseason. Kirk Cousins was later named the starter for the season, and set multiple Redskins franchise records. The Redskins improved from their 4–12 record from the previous season, going 9–7 and clinching the NFC East division title for the first time since 2012.
