Shawn Cosgrove
Shawn Cosgrove (born 2 December 1955) is an Australian voice-over artist and television announcer. Biography He is most known for his work as the announcer on ''The Price Is Right'', where he shouts "Come on Down!" to the contestants chosen to play. Cosgrove has also been a radio host on 104.3 Gold FM and has appeared in a range of television and radio commercials. He is also the chief voiceover announcer on SEN 1116. Until March 2010, he also worked as a radio personality host on 3MP on weekdays from 3-7pm. Before he announced ''The Price is Right'' for the Nine Network, he was the announcer on a Seven Network kids' game show pilot called '' Inter-Stellar Patrol'' (hosted by Tony Gordon). However, he's never actually heard of this show which became apparent when his attractive son quizzed him about it. ''The Price Is Right'' is an Australian television game show that has been produced in a number of different formats, based on the American concept of the same title. The most recent of these formats began airing on 7 May 2012 on Seven Network. Larry Emdur, who hosted the program on two occasions prior to 2012, was the presenter for the 2012 revival. Original version The Australian version of the Price is Right, debuted on ATN-7 in Sydney in 1957 and was hosted by Bruce Beeby and later Keith Walsh until 1959. Geoff Manion hosted the show on GTV-9 in Melbourne on Sundays for sixteen weeks in 1958. In 1963, the show was screened on the entire Seven Network and was hosted by musician Horrie Dargie. 1116 SEN (call sign 3AK) is an Australian radio station in Victoria. Owned and operated by Pacific Star Network, it broadcasts a sports radio format from Lower Plenty to Greater Melbourne. First broadcast on 29 November 1931 as 3AK, the station currently broadcasts from studios in South Melbourne. History The station first broadcast on 29 November 1931 as 3AK. In October 2003, amid growing debt and struggling ratings, 3AK operators Data & Commerce Limited placed the station up for sale. Moonee Valley Racecourse, currently marketed as The Valley, is a horse-racing track in Moonee Ponds, Melbourne, Victoria Australia. History Moonee Valley Racecourse was established in 1883 by William Samuel (W.S.) Cox, who purchased a farm the previous year belonging to John F. Feehan for the purpose of establishing a racetrack. ''The Price Is Right'' is a television game show franchise created by Bob Stewart, originally produced by Mark Goodson and Bill Todman; currently it is produced and owned by Fremantle. The franchise centers on television game shows, but also includes merchandise such as video games, printed media, and board games. The franchise began in 1956 as a television game show hosted by Bill Cullen and was revamped in 1972. This version was originally hosted by Bob Barker. Drew Carey has hosted the program since 2007. Contestants on the show compete to win cash and prizes by guessing the price of merchandise. The program has been critically successful and remains a stalwart in the television ratings.
