Shattered (2022 Film)
''Shattered'' is a 2022 American psychological thriller film directed by Luis Prieto and written by David Loughery. The film stars Cameron Monaghan, Frank Grillo, Lilly Krug, and John Malkovich. Plot Chris is delaying signing divorce papers from Jamie when he bumps into Sky during a late-night shop. He comes to her rescue by offering a ride when her Uber is cancelled. On arriving at the motel she is staying at, she hesitates to leave saying that her roommate Lisa is a handful due to drugs and can be disruptive when not asleep. Chris suggests she could wait at his for a few hours and then he'll bring her back. After enjoying each other's company for a few hours, they make love and Sky heads to the motel in the morning where Lisa is furious. Chris finds Sky at her workplace and walking back to his car catches someone trying to break in and an altercation follows. Luis Prieto (director)
Luis Prieto (born 10 July 1970) is a Spain, Spanish-born film director, and screenwriter. Early life Prieto was born in Madrid, Spain. He studied economics and photography in Spain and film at the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles where he graduated in 1994 with honors from the School of Film and Video. Career Early career From 1994 and 1999 Prieto lived in Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles where he worked as an editor on short films, commercials and documentaries - including the 1994 Student Academy Award Nominee ''The Night Voice''. In 2001, Prieto directed the short film ''Bamboleho'', which won over 45 international awards, including Best Short Film at the first edition of Robert De Niro's Tribeca Film Festival and a Special Jury Mention at the 2001 Venice Film Festival. Audition (1999 Film)
is a 1999 Japanese horror film directed by Takashi Miike and written by Daisuke Tengan. An adaptation of Ryu Murakami's Audition (Murakami novel), 1997 novel, it stars Ryo Ishibashi and Eihi Shiina. The film follows a middle-aged widower (Ishibashi) who enlists the help of his film producer friend to stage a fake audition in order to meet a new girlfriend, only to find that the dark past of the woman he chooses (Shiina) severely affects their relationship. The film was originally a project of the Japanese company Omega Project, who wanted to make another horror film after the financial success of ''Ring (1998 film), Ring'' (1998). The company purchased the rights to Murakami's book and sought Miike and Tengan for an adaptation. The cast and crew consisted primarily of previous Miike collaborators, with the exception of Shiina, who had worked as a model prior to her acting career.
