Al Shatrah Stadium
Al Shatrah Stadium (Arabic: ملعب الشطرة) is a multi-purpose stadium in Dhi Qar, Iraq. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium of Shatra FC and Al-Nasiriya FC. The stadium holds 7,500 people. Iraqi Second Division League
The Iraqi Second Division League is a Association football, football league that is the fourth tier of the Iraqi football league system. The league was founded in 1974, and consists of 20 teams split into two groups in the first stage. The top four teams in each group qualify for the second stage, where they are split into two further groups. The two group winners in the second stage are promoted directly to the Iraqi First Division League, while the two bottom teams in the first stage are relegated to the Iraqi Third Division League. In the 2023–24 Iraqi Second Division League, 2023–24 season, Al-Jaish SC (Iraq), Al-Jaish won the championship title after defeating Al-Falluja SC, Al-Falluja 4–2 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the final match. Ash-Shatrah
Al-Shatrah (also known as Shatrat al-Muntafiq) is a town in southern Iraq, located north of Nasiriyah. It is the administrative capital of the al-Shatrah District, a part of the Dhi Qar Governorate. Al-Shatrah is situated along the Gharraf Canal at the intersection with Highway 7. It lies 22.35 km (13.9 mi) west of the ancient city of Lagash. In 2009, it had a population estimated 254,000. History Al-Shatrah was founded in 1872 during the Ottoman era in Iraq when the town was part of the Basra Vilayet. Not long afterward, the town established a strong trading relationship with Baghdad and became a hub of the grain trade in southern Iraq. Nasiriyah
Nasiriyah ( , ; , BGN: , ), also spelled Nassiriya or Nasiriya, is a city in Iraq, the capital of the Dhi Qar Governorate. It lies on the lower Euphrates, about south-southeast of Baghdad, near the ruins of the ancient city of Ur. Its population in 2018 was about 558,000, making it the ninth-largest city in Iraq.
