Sharon Tiller
Sharon Tiller is an American film maker who has numerous film and television credits as a writer, director, and producer. She is the WGBH-TV executive-in-charge for the American documentary television series ''Frontline'', which she first joined in 1995 as a senior producer for special projects. She is married to journalist and news producer Lowell Bergman. WGBH-TV (channel 2), branded on-air as GBH or GBH 2 since 2020, is the primary PBS List of PBS member stations, member television station in Boston, Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Lowell Bergman
Lowell Bergman (born July 24, 1945) is an American journalist, television producer and professor of journalism. In a career spanning nearly five decades Bergman worked as a producer, a reporter, and then the director of investigative reporting at ABC News and as a producer for CBS's ''60 Minutes'', leaving in 1998 as the senior producer of investigations for CBS News. He also was the founder of the investigative reporting program at the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley and for 28 years taught there as professor. He was also a producer/correspondent for the PBS documentary series '' Frontline''. In 2019, Bergman retired. The story of his investigation into the tobacco industry was chronicled in Michael Mann’s '' The Insider'', which was nominated for seven Academy Awards. Bergman was portrayed by Al Pacino. George Polk Awards
The George Polk Awards in Journalism are a series of American journalism awards presented annually by Long Island University in New York in the United States. A writer for Idea Lab, a group blog hosted on the website of PBS, described the award as "one of only a couple of journalism prizes that means anything". The News & Documentary Emmy Awards, or News & Documentary Emmys, are part of the extensive range of Emmy Awards for artistic and technical merit for the American television industry. Bestowed by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the News & Documentary Emmys are presented in recognition of excellence in American news and documentary programming.
