Sharon Riley
Sharon Riley Rexach (born November 7, 1946) is a Puerto Rican actress and singer, who has been featured in several telenovelas on Puerto Rican television. Early life Riley was born on Santurce in 1946, the daughter of American United States Army officer William Riley and of the legendary singer, poet and composer Sylvia Rexach. Riley did not have a happy home life: she remembers how, as a child, many times she had to call the police, allegedly due to her father's violence towards her famous mother. Due in part to the lax domestic violence laws of the time, he wasn't arrested. She was traumatized by her dad's alleged actions towards her mom. She gained initial fame as a child star, when as a seven-year-old in 1954, she was hired to play an orphan in one of the first major Puerto Rican television sitcom hits, "La Taverna India", where Riley acted alongside Ramón Rivero, "Diplo". Irish immigration to Puerto Rico began during the 16th century after the Spanish had colonized the island and has continued to the present day. During the 1500s, several Irish mercenaries in English service deserted and fled to the Spanish Empire, some of whom made their way to Puerto Rico. Many of these Irishmen served in the Spanish garrison on Puerto Rico, settling down, establishing families and integrating into the local community. During the 17th and 18th centuries, several Irish military officers and colonial officials in Spanish service, such as Alejandro O'Reilly, were sent to Puerto Rico, further boosting the Irish community in the colony. Luz María Rondón (born March 29, 1933, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican actress and acting teacher. Early life Rondón began her acting career in 1957, when she was 24. Acting career She left acting in order to attend college, getting a bachelor's degree in teaching from the University of Puerto Rico. She also began raising a family, but tragedy soon arrived in her life: her youngest son, Carlos ("Carlitos"), was diagnosed by a doctor as having Leukemia. Carlitos soon died, an event that touched Rondón for the rest of her life (in 1987, she told a national newspaper, El Reportero, that, in her opinion, parents never recover (from a child's death) . Osceola (1804 – January 30, 1838, Vsse Yvholv in Creek, also spelled Asi-yahola), named Billy Powell at birth, was an influential leader of the Seminole people in Florida.
