Sharon Anyos
Sharon Lea Anne Anyos (born 13 October 1970, Geelong, Victoria, Australia) is a retired Australian featherweight boxer, kickboxer, karate competitor and model. Anyos holds multiple World titles in boxing, including winning the first ever WBC World female featherweight title in 2005 against Marcela Acuña. Anyos successfully defended her World title against Esther Schouten in 2006. Anyos was awarded the WBC World Emeritus title in 2007, alongside other boxing legends including Kostya Tszyu, Vitali Klitschko, Lennox Lewis, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Érik Morales and Laila Ali. The Women's International Boxing Association (WIBA) is a sanctioning body for women's professional boxing came into existence in July 2000, and quickly grew into a major force in the sport. History The WIBA was officially founded by American Ryan Wissow, and Colombian Luis Bello-Diaz. Ryan Wissow is the president and owner of the WIBA. Light welterweight, also known as junior welterweight or super lightweight, is a weight class in combat sports. Boxing Professional boxing In professional boxing, light welterweight is contested between the lightweight and welterweight divisions, in which boxers weigh above 61.2kg or 135 pounds and up to 63.5 kg or 140 pounds. Welterweight is a weight class in combat sports. Originally the term "welterweight" was used only in boxing, but other combat sports like Muay Thai, taekwondo, and mixed martial arts also use it for their own weight division system to classify the opponents. In most sports that use it, welterweight is heavier than lightweight but lighter than middleweight. Jane Couch
Jane Couch, (born 14 August 1968) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 1994 to 2007. She became the first licensed female boxer in the United Kingdom in 1998, and won numerous world titles. Couch has since become a boxing promoter. Background Born in Fleetwood, Lancashire, Couch was expelled from her school in Blackpool and thereafter lived "a life of booze, drugs and street fighting". At the age of 26 she saw a television documentary about women's boxing and decided to try it. The Trusts Arena
The Trusts Arena is an indoor arena located in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand. It is a multi-purpose stadium that primarily holds sports events and music concerts. The Arena was opened by then Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark on 11 September 2004. It holds 4,901 people. Adjacent to the stadium is an outdoor athletics facility known as the Douglas Track and Field, which has a capacity of 3,000 people.
