Shararat (1944 Film)
''Shararat'' (Mischief) is a List of Bollywood films of 1944, 1944 Hindi comedy film directed by Kishore Sahu. Produced by Hindustan Chitra Productions, it had music by S. N. Tripathi and Khan Mastana. Following the commercial success of his earlier comedy film ''Kunwara Baap (1942 film), Kunwara Baap'' (1942), Sahu made another comedy with ''Shararat'', which he not only directed and wrote the story for, but also cast himself in the main role. The actors co-starring with him were Maya Banerji, Protima Dasgupta, Ramesh Gupta, Sushil Sahu and Moni Chatterjee. The film was about a young woman pretending to be insane in order to avoid an arranged marriage. Plot Raibahadur Hiralal Mathur is a wealthy man who lives with his wife and a stubborn, spoilt daughter Sudha. Her reckless driving of a new car nearly gets her into trouble when she bangs the car into Dr. Sharma. The Doctor suffers no serious injuries, instead he and Sudha fall in love. ''Shararat'' (meaning "Mischief") is a 1959 Hindi romantic drama film written, produced and directed by H. S. Rawail. It stars Raaj Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Meena Kumari, Kumkum in lead roles, with the memorable song "Hum Matwale Naujawan" sung by Kishore Kumar. Here, Meena Kumari matched the boisterous Kishore Kumar. This film is also unique because in addition to Kishore Kumar singing his own songs, two versions of a classical raga based song ("Ajab Hai Daastaan Teri Yeh Zindagi") that were picturized on Kishore Kumar were sung by Mohammad Rafi, on Kishore Kumar's insistence. Manmohan Desai
Manmohan Desai (26 February 1937 – 1 March 1994) was an Indian film producer and director. He was one of the most successful filmmakers of the 70s and 80s. Desai was an influential and sought-after film director of Bollywood and a pioneer of making masala film, Masala films along with Prakash Mehra and Nasir Hussain. Family background Manmohan Desai was of Gujarati people, Gujarati ancestry. His father, Kikubhai Desai, was an Indian film producer and owner of Paramount Studios (later Filmalaya) from 1931 to 1941. His productions, mainly stunt films, included ''Circus Queen'', ''Golden Gang'', and ''Sheikh Challi''. Manmohan Desai's elder brother, Subhash Desai, became a producer in the 1950s and gave Manmohan his first break in the Hindi film ''Chhalia'' (1960). ''Shararat'' () is a 2002 Hindi-language comedy drama film directed by debutant Gurudev Bhalla, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Hrishitaa Bhatt and Amrish Puri. The film was released on 12 July 2002. Plot Rahul Khanna (Abhishek Bachchan) is the only son of wealthy industrialists, who have no time for their son.
