Shannon Harris
Shannon Harris (born August 30, 1980) is an American professional football coach who is the head coach of the DC Defenders of the United Football League (UFL). He has previously served as assistant college football coach for the Tennessee State Tigers, Alabama State Hornets, Alcorn State Braves, and Virginia State Trojans. With the Defenders in 2025, Shannon won a UFL championship and was named the UFL Coach of the Year. Coaching career HBCU Harris began his coaching career in 2003, after playing two seasons with Tennessee State Tigers. Between 2004 and 2009, Harris was moved through various roles with the team. From 2010 to 2014, he was the wide receivers coach at Alabama State. From 2015 to 2017, he served as the wide receivers coach at Alcorn State. He returned back to Tennessee State for two seasons before being hired as the offensive coordinator at Virginia State. Wiggins, Mississippi
Wiggins is a city in and the county seat of Stone County, Mississippi, United States. It is part of the Gulfport-Biloxi metropolitan area. The population was 4,272 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History Wiggins is named after Wiggins Hatten, the father of Madison Hatten, one of the area's original homesteaders. 2025 UFL Season
The 2025 UFL season is the current second season of the United Football League. The Birmingham Stallions were the defending champions after they defeated the San Antonio Brahmas in the 2024 UFL Championship Game to win their third consecutive spring football championship, adding to their back-to-back championships in the rebooted USFL. 2025 DC Defenders Season
The 2025 DC Defenders season is the fourth season for the DC Defenders as a professional American football franchise and the second season in the United Football League (UFL). The Defenders play their home games at Audi Field and led by interim head coach Shannon Harris. The Defenders had a 6-2 start, but lost the last two games to finish 6-4. However, even if they won those games, they wouldn't have hosted the XFL Conference Championship Game due to a scheduling conflict. The Defenders defeated the Battlehawks, 36-18, to advance to their first UFL Championship Game, where they faced the Michigan Panthers. The Defenders won in a 58-34 rout of the Panthers. The Michigan Panthers were a professional American football team based in Metro Detroit. The Panthers competed in the United States Football League (USFL) as a member of the Western Conference and Central Division. The team played its home games at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. Reggie Devon Barlow (born January 22, 1972) is an American former professional football player and coach who is currently the head coach for Tennessee State University. Barlow was previously the head coach of the DC Defenders of the United Football League (UFL). Barlow served as the head football coach at Alabama State University from 2007 to 2014 and at Virginia State University from 2016 to 2021. He played professionally as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons, five for the Jacksonville Jaguars, two for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and one with the Oakland Raiders. Henry Frazier III (born March 20, 1968) is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach for Virginia State University, a position he has held since 2022. It began in 2024 and has continued ever since, usually taking place in the second week of June.
