Shannon Bilbray-Axelrod
Shannon Mary Bilbray-Axelrod (born 1973) is a Democratic member of the Nevada Assembly. She represents the 34th district, which covers parts of the western Las Vegas Valley. Biography Bilbray-Axelrod was born in Las Vegas in 1973, and graduated from the University of San Diego. She is the daughter of former U.S. Representative James Bilbray, and her sister, Erin Bilbray, was an unsuccessful 2014 candidate for Nevada's 3rd congressional district. Bilbray-Axelrod ran for the Assembly in 2016, prevailing in a three-way Democratic primary and defeating Republican Matt Williams in the general election. In March 2017, it was reported Bilbray-Axelrod has registered in 2016 as a foreign agent on behalf of Saudi Arabia, in order to lobby against the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act. Victoria Seaman
Victoria Seaman is a Republican former member of the Nevada Assembly, representing District 34 in Clark County. She served in the 78th session, from 2014–2016. Seaman was the first Republican Latina elected to the Nevada Assembly. Background and education Seaman was born in Santa Maria, California. She has an Associate degree in Political Science from the College of Southern Nevada. She also studied at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Justice Against Sponsors Of Terrorism Act
The Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) () is a law enacted by the United States Congress that narrows the scope of the legal doctrine of foreign sovereign immunity. It amends the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act and the Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act in regards to civil claims against a foreign state for injuries, death, or damages from an act of international terrorism. Previously, U.S. citizens were permitted to sue a foreign state if such state was designated as a state sponsor of terrorism by the United States Department of State and if they were harmed by that state's aid for international terrorism. JASTA authorizes federal courts to exercise subject matter jurisdiction over any foreign state's support for acts of international terrorism against a U.S. national or property regardless of whether such state is designated as a state sponsor of terrorism. Zachary Beare Conine (born October 20, 1981) is an American attorney, businessman and politician from the U.S. state of Nevada. He is currently the Nevada State Treasurer. Biography Conine was raised in New York. He graduated from Cornell University in 2003 and then moved to Nevada. He worked in Bullhead City, Arizona, and Laughlin, Nevada.
