Shanghai Railway Station Metro Station
Shanghai Railway Station () is an interchange station between lines 1, 3 and 4 on the Shanghai Metro. It is one of the stations where Line 3 and Line 4 share the same tracks and elevated platforms. The transfer between Line 1 and lines 3 and 4 is actually quite long and would take around 8 minutes without suitcases. Both metro stations are located on the opposing sides of the train station with a long tunnel connecting both platforms. Passengers transfer between Lines 1 and 3/4 would require two single-journey tickets or separate scans of QR Code. However, fares paid using physical or digital Shanghai Public Transport Card would be calculated as a single journey provided the transfer is completed within 30 minutes. In addition to being an interchange between metro lines, the station facilitates transfer to Shanghai's main railway station. Jing'an District
Jing'an District () is one of the central districts of Shanghai. In 2020, it had 975,707 inhabitants in an area of . The district borders the Hongkou, Shanghai, Hongkou to the east, Huangpu, Shanghai, Huangpu to the east and south, Putuo, Shanghai, Putuo to the west, Baoshan District, Shanghai, Baoshan District to the north and Changning, Shanghai, Changning to the west. On 4 November 2015, Zhabei merged with Jing'an District, bringing Shanghai down to 15 districts and one county. Jing'an District is named after Jing'an Temple, an ancient traditional Chinese Buddhist temple. Today's temple is a new replica of the old one, located in the southern part of the district. An Art Deco "dancehall" is just across the street; the neighborhood is largely residential, but with many bars and restaurants. Suzhou Creek
Suzhou Creek (or Soochow Creek), also called the Wusong (Woosung) River, is a river that passes through the Shanghai city center. It is named after the neighboring city of Suzhou (Soochow), Jiangsu, the predominant settlement in this area prior to the rise of Shanghai as a metropolis. One of the principal outlets of Lake Tai in Wujiang District of Suzhou, Suzhou Creek is long, of which 54 km are within the administrative region of Shanghai and 24 km within the city's highly urbanized parts. It flows into the Huangpu River at the northern end of the Bund in Huangpu District. History The river was originally called "Song Jiang" ("Pine River").
