Shanghai EPrix
The Shanghai E-Prix is an annual race in the FIA Formula E World Championship, an all-electric single-seater racing series. The race was held for the first time at the Shanghai International Circuit on 25 May 2024. History Formula E has raced in China multiple times, with the Beijing ePrix serving as the opening race for the seasons 1 and 2, the Hong Kong ePrix serving as the opening race for the seasons 3 and 4 and held for the final time in 2019, and the Sanya ePrix being held in 2019. There was supposed to be a race in Sanya in 2020, but this was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Shanghai ePrix was announced as part of the calendar for the 2023-24 season on 19 October 2023. It would be held as a double header, with the second race substituting for the Jakarta ePrix, which was cancelled due to the upcoming presidential election. Shanghai International Circuit
The Shanghai International Circuit () is a motorsport race track, situated in the Jiading District, Shanghai. The circuit is best known as the venue for the annual Chinese Grand Prix which was hosted from 2004 to 2019 and was scheduled again from 2024 onwards, but its race was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic. History Shanghai International Circuit was conceived by the Shanghai authorities as a way to showcase the city to the world. A 5.3 sq km site was chosen in the Jiading District in the north west of the city, close to major car parts manufacturing facilities and a budget of 2.6 billion yuan ($450 million) raised through a government-funded joint-venture company, the Shanghai Jiushi Group. Herman Tilke was chosen to design the track and associated buildings, and between April and May 2003, engineers visited the site to draw up their plans. Jake Dennis (born 16 June 1995) is a British racing driver who lives in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. He currently competes in the Formula E World Championship with Avalanche Andretti Formula E. Pascal Wehrlein (born 18 October 1994) is a German-Mauritian racing driver for the Porsche Formula E Team. He previously raced in Formula One for the Sauber and Manor teams.
