Shane McGregor
Shane McGregor (born 5 December 1963) is a retired South African football player who played professionally for Grinaker Rangers, Kaizer Chiefs, Pretoria City F.C. and Supersport United. He scored over 20 goals four times in a season in 1986, 1987, 1991 and 1992. Grinaker Rangers "Makentane" (Chains) turned professional at age 21 where he bought his first car, Ford Escort 1600 earning R250 a month. He helped the "Black and Whites" win the 1986 1986 National Soccer League by scoring 27 goals in 39 matches. Kaizer Chiefs 1988 season He was the NSL top goalscorer with 19 goals. Ted Dumitru
Theodore "Ted" Dumitru (born Dumitru Teodorescu; 2 September 1939 – 26 May 2016) was a Romanian football manager who is best known for his time in South Africa. Dumitru was one of few coaches who have led South Africa's 'big three' clubs Kaizer Chiefs, Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. Dumitru was brought to South Africa by the owner of Kaizer Chiefs, Kaizer Motaung, in 1985, Dumitru went on to become the most successful coach in South African professional football. The veteran coach had an illustrious career during which he amassed 18 trophies with Chiefs and Sundowns, including two back-to-back league championships with each side. The Nedbank Cup is the current name of South Africa's premier club soccer knockout tournament. While many formats have been used over the years, the tournament has always been based on the idea of giving lower league and amateur teams a chance to compete with clubs from the top league for the cup. The tournament is based on the English FA Cup, which has become known for "giant killings" (lower league clubs defeating a top-flight club). The Telkom Knockout was a South African professional association football, football knockout competition which comprised the 16 teams in the South African Premier Soccer League. The competition was established in 1982 and was first known as the Datsun Challenge. Under the new NSL regime in 1984, it became known as the ''JPS Knockout Cup''. It used this name until 1992 when it became known as the ''Coca-Cola Cup''. It was sponsored by the drinks manufacturer until 1996, when it was replaced by the ''Rothmans, Benson & Hedges, Rothmans Cup'' which was changed back to the ''Coca-Cola Cup'' in 2001 due to the new rules regarding tobacco sponsorship in sport.
