Shane McElrath
Shane McElrath (born 11 August 1994) is an American professional Motocross and Supercross racer. McElrath was the 2022 FIM Supercross World Champion in the SX2 class. He has ridden as a professional in the AMA Supercross Championship and AMA Motocross Championship since 2013. In this time he has finished second twice in the 250SX West class and once in the 250SX East class. Career McElrath made his pro debut for the Troy Lee Designs Lucas Oil Honda team in the final three rounds of the 2013 AMA National Motocross Championship. He was retained for the following year by the team, where he made his debut in the AMA Supercross Championship. Competing in the 250SX West class, he recorded several top-10 finishes including a fifth in San Diego, with a final championship position of ninth. Canton, North Carolina
Canton is the second largest town in Haywood County, North Carolina, United States. It is located about west of Asheville and is part of that city's metropolitan area. 2023 AMA National Motocross Championship
The 2023 AMA Motocross Championship season was the 52nd AMA Motocross National Championship season, the premier motocross series in USA. Eli Tomac went into the season as the defending champion in the 450 class, after taking his fourth 450 national title in 2022. However, after an injury sustained during the 2023 AMA Supercross Championship Tomac did not defend his title. In the 250 class, Jett Lawrence went into the season as the defending champion, after winning his second 250 title the previous season. However, Lawrence moved up to the 450MX class, which meant he did not defend his title. In his rookie season in the 450 class, Jett Lawrence recorded a perfect season by winning all 22 races. 2023 FIM Supercross World Championship
The 2023 FIM Supercross World Championship is a supercross series sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) as the world championship of the sport. This is the second season that the championship is being organized by Australian promoter SX Global. Ken Roczen is the reigning champion in the WSX class for 450cc motorcycles, whilst Shane McElrath is the reigning champion in the SX2 class. Ultimately, many of the initially scheduled rounds were later cancelled, producing a three round series. Roczen was able to successfully defend his title in the WSX championship, whilst it was Max Anstie who triumphed in SX2 where he became the first British champion of an FIM-sanctioned supercross world championship. Chase Sexton (born September 23, 1999) is an American professional Supercross and Motocross racer competing in the AMA Supercross and Motocross championships; a one-time 450cc AMA Supercross Champion& a two-time 250cc East AMA Supercross Champion. He was a member of the winning USA team at the 2022 Motocross Des Nations. The 2020 AMA Supercross Championship is an American motorcycle racing championship that started January 4, 2020, and ended June 21, 2020. Ten of the 17 rounds had been completed when the season was suspended on March 12, 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 14, 2020, promoter Feld Entertainment announced the season would conclude with races on Wednesdays and Sundays at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. Results Events Rescheduled / Relocated Races at rounds 11-17 were cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. On March 25, 2020, Feld Motor Sports announced their intention to complete the season later in the year. The 2019 AMA Supercross Championship was an American motorcycle racing championship that took place from January 5, 2019 - May 4, 2019 over 17 rounds at various stadiums across the United States. Cooper Webb, riding a KTM, won the championship in the 450cc class while Dylan Ferrandis won in the 250cc Western Regional class and Chase Sexton won in the 250cc Eastern Regional class. Calendar Season Report The first round of the 2019 AMA Supercross Championship was held in wet conditions in Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California on January 5. Dean Wilson led most of the 450cc Main Event but was passed for the win by Justin Barcia, who won his first race since 2013.
