Shane Harvey
Shane Harvey is a former Australian rules footballer. Career He was drafted by the Essendon Football Club in the 2001 AFL Draft at pick 18 in the first round from the Northern Knights. He played 11 games with Essendon before being delisted after the 2003 season. The Kangaroos picked him at pick 6 of the 2004 Pre-Season Draft after they had promised his brother Brent Harvey that they would select Shane if he was available. He played 3 games for the Kangaroos and finished his AFL career at the end of the 2004 season. He has since played for country and suburban clubs, including Wakool Football Club in the Golden Rivers Football League, in which he helped Wakool win the premiership in 2006, and then North Heidelberg Football Club in 2008 and 2009. He played for Barooga in the Murray Football League in 2010. Shane has the ability to kick a lot of goals in the local competitions. Northern Knights
The Northern Knights is an Australian rules football club playing in the NAB League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based in Preston, representing the northern suburban area of Melbourne. The Knights are one of the six original clubs set up as part of a plan by the Victorian State Football League to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft, which allows U18 players the opportunity to be selected by AFL clubs. Northern Knights have had many of their players drafted into the AFL, including the first two selections in the 2007 AFL Draft, Matthew Kreuzer and Trent Cotchin, and the fifth selection in the 2008 AFL Draft, Michael Hurley. The Northern Football Netball League (formerly known as the Diamond Valley Football League and later Northern Football League) is an Australian sports league based in the Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria. The league regulates competitions of both sports, Australian rules football and netball in the region. Hurstbridge Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 34 km north east of Melbourne in the township of Hurstbridge. The club currently competes in the Northern Football League. History From the 1890s, social football was played at Lew Curtis's Flat, Hurstbridge. In 1914, the Hurstbridge Football Club was founded and matches were played in the Bourke Evelyn Football League. Hurstbridge transferred to the Heidelberg District Football Association for just the one season in 1921 before returning to the Bourke-Evelyn Football League. The Barooga Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Hawks'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Barooga located in the Riverina district of New South Wales. The club was formed in 1894 and initially played in the Murray Border Football Association in 1894. When the club won the Federal District Football Association premiership against Cobram Football Club in 1897, they were known as "The Boomerangs" and wore a red and white uniform.
