Shane Green
Shane Greene (born November 17, 1988) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs. The Yankees selected Greene in the 15th round of the 2009 MLB draft. After Greene made his MLB debut with the Yankees in 2014, he was traded to the Tigers before the 2015 season. Greene was an All-Star in 2019. Career Amateur career Greene attended East Ridge High School in Clermont, Florida, and played for their baseball team as a pitcher. He received a scholarship to attend the University of West Florida, in order to play college baseball for the West Florida Argonauts. He lost his scholarship in May 2008 when he had to undergo Tommy John surgery. He transferred to Daytona Beach Community College. Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. They are located in Des Moines, Iowa, and are named for their Major League Baseball (MLB) affiliate. The Cubs have played their home games at Principal Park since 1992, replacing Sec Taylor Stadium which the Cubs used from 1969 to 1991. The club was established as the Iowa Oaks of the Triple-A American Association (1902–1997), American Association in 1969. Iowa took on the Cubs moniker in 1982. They joined the Triple-A Pacific Coast League in 1998 following the dissolution of the American Association after the 1997 season. In conjunction with MLB's reorganization of Minor League Baseball in 2021, the Cubs were shifted to the Triple-A East, which was renamed the International League in 2022. Class AAA
Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL. Triple-A teams are generally located in smaller to mid-size cities which do not have sports teams of the “ Big Four” leagues, such as Syracuse, Toledo, Reno and Omaha, as well as larger metropolitan areas without MLB teams that also have a team in another major professional league, such as Austin, Jacksonville, Columbus, Buffalo, and Indianapolis. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, often abbreviated to SWB RailRiders, are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League (IL) and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. They are located in Moosic, Pennsylvania, in the Wyoming Valley, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, and are named in reference to Northeastern Pennsylvania being home to the first tram, trolley system in the United States. The RailRiders have played their home games at PNC Field since its opening in 1989. Founded as members of the International League in 1989, the team was known as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons during their affiliation with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1989 to 2006. They became known as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in 2007 after affiliating with the New York Yankees. They rebranded as the RailRiders in 2013.
