Shane Curley
Shane Curley is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who has been a Seanad Éireann, senator for the Cultural and Educational Panel since January 2025. He was a member of Galway County Council for the Loughrea area from 2019 Galway County Council election, 2019 to 2025. He unsuccessfully contested the 2020 Seanad election. Seanad Éireann
Seanad Éireann ( ; ; "Senate of Ireland") is the senate of the Oireachtas (the Irish legislature), which also comprises the President of Ireland and Dáil Éireann (defined as the house of representatives). It is commonly called the Seanad or Senate and its members senators ( in Irish language, Irish, singular: ). Unlike Dáil Éireann, it is not directly elected but consists of a mixture of members chosen by various methods. Its powers are much weaker than those of the Dáil and it can only delay laws with which it disagrees, rather than veto them outright. It can introduce new legislation. Since its establishment, it has been located in Leinster House.
