Shan Christopher Ogilvie
Shan Christopher Ogilvie is a Malaysian-born British producer and director. He is best known for producing the short film ''Stutterer'', directed by Benjamin Cleary, which won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 88th Academy Awards. Career Shan studied film at University of Westminster and has made over 15 shorts in a variety of roles, filmed concerts and live events, directed brand videos for the likes of Vodafone, Citibank and O2 (United Kingdom), and has worked in television. Most recently he shot a documentary for Channel 5 (UK) on the Moors Murderer Ian Brady. He is the founder of Bare Golly Films. Stutterer (film)
''Stutterer'' is a short drama film written and directed by Benjamin Cleary and produced by Serena Armitage and Shan Christopher Ogilvie. Plot Greenwood, a lonely typographer, makes a phone call to discuss a bill issue, but his stutter keeps him from getting his words out and he is hung up on. Later, in a conversation with his online girlfriend Ellie on Facebook, Ellie says she has a surprise for Greenwood and will tell him the next day. In public, Greenwood makes "snap judgement" observations about strangers he sees, clearly speaking the thoughts inside his head. While walking to his father's house, he practices in his head a quote he wants to speak to his father. While playing a game of Go with him, he's finally able to get the quote out, albeit slowly, and his father is pleased. Benjamin Cleary is an Irish writer, director and producer from Dublin. He is best known for his short-film ''Stutterer'' that earned him an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 88th Academy Awards with producers Shan Christopher Ogilvie and Serena Armitage. The Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film is an award presented at the annual Academy Awards ceremony. The award has existed, under various names, since 1957. From 1936 until 1956 there were two separate awards, "Best Short Subject, One-reel" and "Best Short Subject, Two-reel", referring to the running time of the short: a standard reel of film is 1000 feet, or about 11 minutes of run time. Moors Murders
The Moors murders were carried out by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley between July 1963 and October 1965, in and around Manchester, England. The victims were five children—Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey, and Edward Evans—aged between 10 and 17, at least four of whom were sexually assaulted. The bodies of two of the victims were discovered in 1965, in graves dug on Saddleworth Moor; a third grave was discovered there in 1987, more than twenty years after Brady and Hindley's trial. Bennett's body is also thought to be buried there, but despite repeated searches it remains undiscovered. The pair were charged only for the murders of Kilbride, Downey and Evans, and received life sentences under a whole life tariff.
