Shamsher Singh Manhas ( hi, शमशेर सिंह मन्हास) (born 4 January 1960 in Jammu, India) is the Bharatiya Janata Party politician from the Jammu & Kashmir. He is the son of Janak Singh (not to be confused with Janak Singh). He is an agriculturist and political and social worker by profession. He is known as the rejuvenator of Right wing Political ideology in the UT of jammu and kashmir and has been an active Pracharak of RSS for a long time, He is known to be a powerful politician in the region. He is also a sportsperson. A Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha (abbreviated: MP) is the representative of the Indian states to the one of the two houses of the Parliament of India (Rajya Sabha). Rajya Sabha MPs are elected by the electoral college of the elected members of the State Assembly with a system of proportional representation by a single transferable vote. Janak Singh
Major General Janak Singh (surname Katoch) CIE, OBI, (7 August 1872 – 15 March 1972) was an officer of the Jammu and Kashmir State Forces in the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. After retirement, he briefly served as the prime minister of the state during a crucial period in 1947, which was evidently a temporary appointment while the Maharaja looked for a more permanent candidate.
