Kent Cricket Board
The Kent Cricket Board is the governing body for all recreational cricket in the historic county of Kent. This covers the local authorities within the modern county of Kent as well as the London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham, areas which were historically within the county. From 1999 to 2004 the Board fielded a team in the English domestic one-day tournament. Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club
Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club is an amateur cricket club in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England. It was founded in 1782 and they play their home matches at the Nevill Ground. As of 2019 they play in the Kent Cricket League Premier Division. History Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club was founded in 1782. They first started playing cricket on the Higher Common Ground in Tunbridge Wells. In 1882, to commemorate their centenary, they played a match against Marylebone Cricket Club. In 1895, Tunbridge Wells CC purchased a lease alongside Bluemantle's Cricket Club from William Nevill, 1st Marquess of Abergavenny to establish a cricket ground. As a result, the Nevill Ground was established on a 99-year lease and named after the Marquess. Surrey Championship
The Surrey Championship is a cricket organisation in Surrey running 6 divisions for 1st & 2nd XI cricket, 4 for 3rd XI and 4 for 4th XI. Since 2000 it has been a designated ECB Premier League. The teams competing in the Premier Division in 2020 will be: Ashtead, Banstead, East Molesey, Esher, Normandy, Reigate Priory, Sunbury, Cranleigh, Weybridge, and Wimbledon. History The competition was founded in 1968 by 17 clubs within Surrey, the idea to create a more competitive form of club cricket, rather than the friendly leagues that had previously been the formats for many clubs. Epsom
Epsom is the principal town of the Borough of Epsom and Ewell in Surrey, England, about south of central London. The town is first recorded as ''Ebesham'' in the 10th century and its name probably derives from that of a Saxon landowner. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. The wicket-keeper is the only member of the fielding side permitted to wear gloves and external leg guards. The role of the keeper is governed by Law 27 of the Laws of Cricket. Matthew Robert Martin Bennett (born 2 September 1982) is an English cricketer. Bennett is a right-handed batsman who plays primarily as a wicketkeeper. He was born in Epsom, Surrey. Bennett represented England at under 18 level and played for Kent and Essex at second XI level. He also represented the Kent Cricket Board in 2 List A matches. The first of these came against the Leicestershire Cricket Board in the 2nd round of the 2003 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy which was held in 2002. His second and final List A match for the Board came against Derbyshire in the 3rd round of the same competition which was played in 2003. In his 2 List A matches, he scored 41 runs at a batting average of 41.00, with a high score of 31. Behind the stumps he made 2 stumpings. He currently plays club cricket for Reigate Priory Cricket Club in the Surrey Championship.
