Shamim Ara Nipa
Shamim Ara Nipa is a Bangladeshi dancer and choreographer. She was born in Kishoreganj on 1 January, 1953. She was married to dancer Hasan Imam from whom she was later divorced. She serves as a director of ''Nrityanchal Dance Company''. She was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in the category of choreography in 2017. Career Nipa got her first lesson in dancing at Arts Council of Kishoreganj District. She studied under the dance instructors Gazi Alimuddin Mannan, G A Mannan and Nikunja Bihari Pal. Later she was trained at Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts. She was trained by a North Korean dance trainer and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (China). Since 2011 Nipa, together with Shibli Mohammad, has been compering the weekly dance magazine program, ''Tarana'', on Bangladesh Television. She married dancer Hasan Imam in 1973. Ekushey Padak
Ekushey Padak () is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of martyrs of the Bengali language movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, education, and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award. The award consists of an 18-carat gold medal weighing 3 Tola (unit), tolas, a certificate of honour and a cash award. The medal was designed by the artist Nitun Kundu. The amount of the cash reward was originally ৳ 25,000, but it was increased to ৳ 100,000 in 2015, to ৳ 200,000 in 2017 and to ৳ 400,000 as of November 2019. Kishoreganj District () is a district in Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. Gazi Alimuddin Mannan
About Gazi Alimuddin Mannan ''Gazi Alimuddin Mannan'' was born on June 8, 1930 in Satkola village of Cumilla. His contribution to the dance world of Bangladesh is outstanding. As a result of his keen interest in dance, he left the country and moved to Mumbai on the invitation of Shantibardhan to learn dance. There he joined the Little Ballet as a student. After completing his education, he also taught there for some time. He then moved to China in 1955 where he trained in acrobatic dance, lighting and stage design. He returned to the country and joined Bulbul Lalitkala Academy in 1958. In 1963 he established his own dance institute named 'Nikkan Lalitkala Academy'. Besides, he worked efficiently as the dance director of National Performing Arts in 1979 and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in 1983. The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) (), colloquially described as The Giant Egg (巨蛋), is an arts centre containing an opera house in Xicheng District, Xicheng, Beijing, China. Shibli Mohammad is a Bangladeshi dancer and choreographer. He is the co-director of "Nrityanchal Dance Company". Early life and education Mohammad was born on 4th September 1965 in Mohammadpur, Dhaka to Shahid Salimullah (d. March 26, 1971) and Begum Jebunnesa Salimullah (d. 2023). Mohammad completed his bachelor's in physics from Jahangir Nagar University. He took dance lessons from Kartic Singh, Ajit Dey and Anita Dey at the Chhayanaut in Dhaka. He was awarded an Indian Government scholarship to train. He was taught by Shreemati Purnima Pande at the Bhatkhande Music Institute in Lucknow, India. Next he studied under Birju Maharaj in National Institute of Kathak Dance in New Delhi. He also received training in ballet and contemporary dance, as well as tap and jazz for a year at the London Ballet Theatre School. The Bachsas Awards were introduced in 1972 to encourage the fledgling film industry of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity (Bangladesh Cine-Journalists' Association) gave its most prestigious awards to outstanding performers in film, television, music, dance and theatre.
