Shamil Burziyev
Shamil Gasanovich Burziyev (russian: Шамиль Гасанович Бурзиев; 1 April 1985 – 5 December 2010) was a Russian professional footballer. Club career Dagestan-born Burziyev played the majority of his career in the lower leagues of Russian football. With Anzhi he also featured in the Russian Premier League and helped them to avoid relegation after reaching the 12th spot in the league in 2010. Burziyev died in a car accident. The 25-year-old had been returning to Makhachkala when he lost control of his car, sending it off the road. The incident occurred on the Rostov Rostov ( rus, Росто́в, p=rɐˈstof) is a town in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia, one of the oldest in the country and a tourist center of the Golden Ring. Buynaksk (russian: Буйна́кск; kum, Шура / Темирхан-Шура, ''Şura / Temirxan-Şura'') is a town in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, located at the foothills of the Greater Caucasus on the Shura-Ozen River, southwest of the republic's capital Makhachkala. History Before 1922 Buynaksk was known as Temir-Khan-Shurá (Темир-Хан-Шура), that is, the lake or cliff of Tamerlane who is said to have camped here in 1396 after defeating Tokhtamysh during the Tokhtamysh-Timur war.
