Shakku
''Shakku'' is a 1988 Maldivian film written and directed by Ahmed Nimal. Produced by Mohamed Saeed under ADFA Films, the film stars Fathimath Rameeza, Asad Shareef and Ahmed Nimal in pivotal roles. During the shooting of the film, Nimal and Rameeza began a romantic relationship and got married soon after the premiere of the film. Premise Sameer, a short-tempered and underprivileged young man is accused of hitting an attractive wealthy woman, Zeena to whom he responds recklessly. She later apologizes to him and they reconcile and plan a trip together to his home island. The trip ends with them starting a romantic relationship though he had to stay back in his home island. Meanwhile, Sameer's friend, Nahid a single musician helps Sameer in settling down in his life after his marriage with Zeena. Ahmed Nimal
Ahmed Nimal is a Maldivian actor, director, editor, writer and producer. Early life Prior to acting in films, Nimal worked at Maldives Meteorological Service office. His interest in films and acting grew due to the influence of his colleagues including Easa Shareef and other friends who actively take part in theatre plays. Career Nimal made his career debut with ''Nufoozu'' (1984), an initiation by Shareef and his colleagues. Initially assigned to work behind the camera, Shareef requested him to star in the lead role of the film due to a date conflict of the original actor who was offered the role first. Afterwards, he started working as a full-time actor and led an organization "Dhivehi Harakaaiy Jamiyya" along with Shareef. Asad Shareef
Asad Shareef (born 3 April 1964) is a Maldivian film actor and politician. Career 1982–2003: Acting career Shareef made his career debut with the film ''Beykaaru''. The film censorship process was completed on the night of scheduled date for theatrical release. During the screening of the film, it had to be abruptly stopped as the length of the film exceeds the permitted duration of theatrical screening which led to a fuss in the cinema. Ahmed Nimal-directed drama film '' Shakku'' was released in 1988, in which Shareef starred alongside Nimal and Fathimath Rameeza as generous friend wrongly accused of cheating.
