"Shake It" is a song by American pop rock band Metro Station, released as the third single (and debut British single) from their 2007 self-titled debut studio album. "Shake It" was the band's first charting single, peaking at number ten on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Outside of the United States, "Shake It" peaked within the top ten of the charts in Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The single was certified Gold by the RIAA on June 13, 2008, and later Platinum that year, until finally reaching 2× Platinum status at the end of January 2009. The song has sold over 1.2 million copies in the US and over 4 million copies worldwide. Composition "Shake It" was written in the key of E major, but Metro Station played the song in D major for live performances. Metro Station (band)
Metro Station was an American pop rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, California by singer Mason Musso and bassist/guitarist Trace Cyrus. In late 2006, the band signed a recording contract with Columbia Records and RED Ink Records. The band is best known for the top 10 '' Billboard'' hit single " Shake It" from the group's self-titled debut album. In 2010, tension between Cyrus and Musso caused the band to go on hiatus. In 2011, the band returned, however, it was announced that Cyrus was no longer a part of the group and Musso had purchased the rights to the name. An EP entitled ''Middle of the Night'' was released in 2013, which was led by the single "Every Time I Touch You". In 2014, Cyrus and a new drummer, Spencer Steffan, came to the band, and a new single entitled "Love & War" was released. In 2015, the band released a second full-length album, titled ''Savior''. The Australian Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was an annual awards show that awarded entertainers with a blimp trophy, as voted by children. The show was usually held during October or November and a televised show was produced, touted as the "biggest party for kids on the planet". The Australian Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards were discontinued after 2011 and replaced by Nickelodeon Slimefest from 2012, although domestic categories continue to be voted for and awarded during continuity carried during the annual tape-delayed airing of the main US ceremony. The Los Angeles Theatre is a 2,000-seat historic movie palace at 615 S. Broadway in the historic Broadway Theater District in Downtown Los Angeles.
