''Tyla'' is the debut studio album by South African singer Tyla. It was released on 22 March 2024 through Fax and Epic Records. Capitalizing on her international breakthrough with its lead single "Water", the album includes guest appearances from Kelvin Momo, Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, Becky G, and Travis Scott. ''Tyla'' blends elements of amapiano, pop, afrobeats, and contemporary R&B, and its lyrical themes include empowerment and relationships. Tyla Laura Seethal (born 30 January 2002), known mononymously as Tyla, is a South African singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Johannesburg, she signed with Epic Records in 2021 following the domestic success of her 2019 debut single, "Getting Late" (featuring Kooldrink). Sergio Giavanni Kitchens (born June 14, 1993), known professionally as Gunna, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is signed to Young Thug's record label YSL Records, as well as 300 Entertainment and Atlantic Records. The Tyla Tour is the upcoming debut concert tour by South African singer Tyla in support of her debut studio album ''Tyla'' (2024). The tour was scheduled to commence on 21 March 2024 in Oslo, Norway, and conclude on 28 May 2024 in Minneapolis, United States. Two weeks before the tour was scheduled to start, Tyla announced that the European leg of the tour was postponed without further notice and the North American leg of the tour was cancelled due to an injury that the singer had been suffering with prior to the tour's commencement. "Jump" is a song by South African singer Tyla, American rapper Gunna and Jamaican rapper Skillibeng, from Tyla's self-titled debut album. Afrobeats (not to be confused with Afrobeat or Afroswing), or Afro-pop or Afro-fusion (or Afropop or Afrofusion), is an umbrella term to describe popular music from West Africa and the diaspora that initially developed in Nigeria, Ghana, and the UK in the 2000s and 2010s. Amapiano ( Zulu for "the pianos") is a style of house music that emerged in South Africa in the mid 2010s. It is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths and wide percussive basslines.
