Shahin Shahbazi
Shahin Shahbazi (; born 1978) is an Iranian composer, musician, and poet. He is mostly renowned for his mastery of the Tar (string instrument), tar and setar and his composition of the complete radif works of maestro Ali Akbar Shahnazi with his band Nafir ensemble. Biography Shahin Shahbazi was born in Tehran and became the apprentice of Ostad Dariush Talai at an early age. Later he learned and worked with some of the most famous masters of Iranian music like Mohammad-Reza Lotfi, Manouchehr Sahbaei, Hossein Dehlavi, Farhad Fakhredini and Houshang Zarif. In 2002 he founded the Nafir Ensemble. His most famous composition with Nafir ensemble is the recording of Shahnazi's complete Radif work. This work is outstanding as it was the first time that a composer was capable to rewrite Shahnazi's Radif work for all traditional Iranian instruments. Hossein Dehlavi
Hossein Dehlavi () (September 30, 1927 – October 15, 2019) was an Iranian composer. Biography Hossein Dehlavi was born in 1927 in Tehran, Iran and started music with his father Moezeddin Emami who was a pupil of master Ali-Akbar Shahnazi. Dehlavi studied composition at the Tehran Conservatory of Music with Hossein Nassehi and Heimo Tauber. He studied Persian music with Abolhasan Saba and, from 1957 to 1967, was the principal conductor of the Persian Fine Arts Administration Orchestra, also known as Saba Orchestra. Dehlavi began teaching at the Persian National Music Conservatory in Tehran from 1957 and served as its director from 1962 until 1971. The conductor Ali Rahbari was one of his pupils. In 1992, with the cooperation of nearly 70 players of Persian instruments, Dehlavi established the Plectrum Orchestra in Tehran. Vahdat Hall
Vahdat () is a city in western Tajikistan, on the bank of the Kofarnihon River, 21 km east of Dushanbe. It was previously called Yangi-Bozor (1927–1936), Orjonikidzeobod (1936–1993, after Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze) and Kofarnihon (1993–2006). Its population is estimated at 43,200 for the city proper and 342,700 for the city with the outlying communities (2020). Vahdat was the focus on international attention in 2019 when a riot occurred in the city's prison, believed to be instigated by members of Islamic State, which led to the deaths of three guards and 29 inmates. Konya
Konya is a major city in central Turkey, on the southwestern edge of the Central Anatolian Plateau, and is the capital of Konya Province. Houshang Zarif
Houshang Zarif (, also romanized as "Hūshang Zarīf"; December 7, 1938 – March 7, 2020) was an Iranian master of tar and Persian traditional music. Biography and career Houshang Zarif was born on December 7, 1938 in Tehran. He was a graduate of the Persian National Music Conservatory in Tehran; where he studied tar with Mousa Maroufi. Zarif worked with the Fine Arts Administration Orchestra, conducted by Hossein Dehlavi in the 1950s and was the professor of tar at the National Conservatory for several years; Hossein Alizadeh was among his pupils. Farhad Fakhredini
Farhad Fakhreddini (; born 11 March 1938 in Gədəbəy, Azerbaijan) is a renowned Iranian composer, conductor and founder of Iran's National Orchestra. He led Iran's Radio and Television Orchestra from 1973 to 1979. Fakhreddini has composed music for some of Fereydoon Moshiri's poetry. Fakhreddini was awarded the 1st Class Order of Culture and Art by the Iranian government in June 2005. In July 2008, a stamp was issued in his honour.
