Shahida Jamil
Shahida Nighat Jamil (born 30 January 1944 as Shahida Nighat Sulaiman) is a Pakistani lawyer and politician who served as the Law Minister of Pakistan. Early education and family Jamil is the only daughter of the late Shah Ahmed Sulaiman (a businessman and son of Sir Shah Sulaiman) and the late Begum Akhtar Sulaiman (a prominent social worker and daughter of Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy). She was called to the Bar in 1973. Prior to that she graduated from Sindh Muslim Law College and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and English literature from Karachi University through St. Joseph's College. She is married to Chaudhry Mohammad Jamil (a senior advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and former vice-president of the Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association). Mohammad Mian Soomro
Muhammad Mian Soomro (; ; born 19 August 1950) is a Pakistani politician, banker and senator who has served as Chairman of the Senate, Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan and Acting President of Pakistan. He also served as the 26th Governor of Sindh and as Federal Minister for Privatization. Born to a native Sindhi family originally linked to the Soomra dynasty, he served as the chairman of the Senate from 2003 to 2009, the Caretaker prime minister of Pakistan from 2007 to 2008, and the acting president of Pakistan from 18 August 2008 to 9 September 2008. Soomro hails from an influential Sindhi feudal family that has been active in national politics since 1923. His father, the late Ahmed Mian Soomro, was Deputy Speaker of the West Pakistan Assembly and a member of the Senate and helped to establish the Senate Committee Systems. The Muhajir people (also spelled Mohajir and Mahajir) () are a multi-origin ethnic group of Pakistan. They are the Muslim immigrants of various ethnic groups and regional origins, who migrated from various regions of India after the 1947 independence to settle in the newly independent state of Pakistan, and their descendants. A significant population of the community settled in Karachi and other major urban centres of Pakistan. The total population of Muhajrs worldwide is estimated to be around 15 million, and the overwhelming majority of this figure (14.7 million) is located in Pakistan, according to the 2017 Pakistani census.
