Shahbuz District
Shahbuz District () is one of the 7 districts of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The district borders the districts of Julfa, Babek, and the Syunik and Vayots Dzor provinces of Armenia. Its capital and largest city is Shahbuz. As of 2020, the district had a population of 25,300. Overview Covering 27 villages and plateaus of the Oyuqlucaqaya, Bazaryurd, Dərəbash, Qachdash, Nərkechi and Armudlu, the region of ''Dərəşahbuz'' was established in the 16th century and functioned up to 40th years of the 19th century. In 1925, it was named Narimanov District in the administrative-territorial unit of Nakhchivan (encompassing 30 villages) and renamed Shahbuz in 1930. In 1963, the district was abolished and given to the Nakhchivan (since 1978, Babak) region; Shahbuz has operated as an independent district since 1965. Badamlı
Badamlı (also, Badamly) is a village and municipality in the Shahbuz District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located 14 km in the west from the district center. Its population is busy with gardening and animal husbandry. There are secondary school, culture house, library and hospital in the village. It has a population of 1,101. There were the ram stone sculptures of the Middle Ages in the cemetery of its territory. Etymology It is located in the southern slope of the ridge of the Daralayaz. The name of the village means "The village which has almond trees in its territory". BiçənÉ™k, anglicized as Bichanak and Bichenek, is a village and municipality in the Shahbuz District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located in the near of the Yevlakh-Lachin-Nakhchivan highway, 24 km in the north-east from the district center, on both banks of the Nakhchivanchay river. Its population is busy with gardening and animal husbandry. There are a secondary school, club, library and a medical center in the village. It has a population of 1,172. Külüs (also, Kulus and Kyulyus) is a village and municipality in the Shahbuz District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located in the near of the Shahbuz-Kecili highway, 13 km in the south-east from the district center, on the slope of the Zangezur ridge. ÅžahbuzkÉ™nd (also, Shahbuzkand, KÉ™nd Åžahbuz and Kend Shahbuz) is a village and municipality in the Shahbuz District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located in the near of the Shahbuz-Kechili highway, 7 km in the south-east from the district center, on the foothill area. Its population is busy with gardening and animal husbandry. Kükü (also, Kuku, Kyuki and Kyukyu) is a village and municipality in the Shahbuz District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located 20 km in the north from the district center, on the bank of the Kukuchay River, on the south-west of the slope of the Daralayaz ridge.
