Shadow Theatre
The Shadow Theatre is an Edmonton-based theatre company born of the Edmonton International Fringe Festival in 1990. History Shadow Theatre was incorporated in 1992, operating under the governance of a volunteer Board of Directors. Co-founded by '' Heartland'' star Shaun Johnston and current Artistic Director John Hudson. The two main people that created and maintain the theater are John Hudson (Artistic Director), Coralie Cairns (actor). The company is housed in the Varscona Theatre (200 seats) in the heart of Old Strathcona. The theatre has produced a regular mainstage season since 1995, typically offering modern classics, contemporary plays from around the world, and new Canadian Canadians () are people identified with the country of Canada. The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival is an annual arts festival held every August in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Produced by thFringe Theatre(Fringe Theatre Adventures or FTA), it is the oldest and largest fringe theatre festival in North America (based on ticket sales). The Edmonton Fringe is a founding member of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals. ''Heartland'' is a Canadian family drama television series which debuted in Canada on CBC Television and originally in the United States on The CW Plus syndication on October 14, 2007. Varscona Theatre
The Varscona Theatre is a live performance venue in the Old Strathcona neighborhood of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Since 1994, the Varscona has been operated by a consortium of small theatre companies, including Teatro la Quindicina and Shadow Theatre (collectively known as The Varscona Theatre Alliance). The theatre is also the home of the nationally renowned live improvised soap opera Die-Nasty.
