Seán Stack
Seán Stack (born 1953) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a centre-back for the Clare senior team. Born in Listowel, County Kerry, Stack first played competitive hurling during his schooling at St. Flannan's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Clare minor team before later joining the under-21, junior and intermediate sides. He made his senior debut during the 1974 championship. Stack immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won two National Hurling League medals. He was a Munster runner-up on five occasions. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Stack won two Railway Cup medal. At club level he is a one-time Munster medallist with Sixmilebridge. In addition to this he has also seven championship medals. Throughout his career Stack made 28 championship appearances. Sixmilebridge GAA
Sixmilebridge is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Sixmilebridge, County Clare, Ireland. History Sixmilebridge GAA Club was founded in 1904. The first recorded matches were at junior hurling and football level against Newmarket-on-Fergus with the hurlers winning and the footballers losing 2–07 to 0–02. The first recorded championship success was in 1940. Kilkishen were defeated in the Clare Intermediate Hurling Championship by Newmarket-on-Fergus. A further ten years elapsed before Sixmilebridge won the Clare Junior A Hurling Championship. In 1951 they won the Clare Intermediate Hurling Championship beating Ennis Dalcassians in the final. The following year the Bridge reached the county senior final only to be beaten by Scariff. In 1954 Sixmilebridge won their first ever senior trophy winning the Clare Cup against Newmarket-on-Fergus on a scoreline of 4-06 to 2-06. Glin () is a village in the northwest of County Limerick, Ireland. It is on the south shore of the River Shannon's estuary, on the N69 road between Foynes and Tarbert. Éire Óg, Inis GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ennis, Clare, Ireland. The club plays both Hurling and Gaelic Football at all age levels. Their most recent major achievement came on 7 November 2021 when they won the Clare Senior Football Championship for the nineteenth time, defeating Kilmurry-Ibrickane by 1–11 to 0–09 in Cusack Park. Prior to the official club formation in 1952, the Ennis Dalcassians represented the county capital. Between 1944-1956 and 1994-1995, players from local rivals St. Joseph's, Doora-Barefield joined up with the club to form the Ennis Faughs. Both clubs were competing at lower levels at the time so it was seen as an opportunity to play senior football. Kilkishen () is a village in southeast County Clare, Ireland. The village is east of Quin and north of Shannon. Demographics According to a report by Samuel Lewis in 1837, Kilkishen had a population of 519. At the 2006 Census the population was 443, a rise from 324 at the 2002 Census. The population of the village, at the 2016 Census, was 561. Facilities Kilkishen is in the civil parish of Clonlea and in the Catholic parish of O'Callaghans Mills. and was owned by the Studderts of Kilkishen House The first Catholic church at Kilkishen, St Senan's, was probably built very early in the 19th century. Tubber GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Tubber, County Clare, Ireland. The club is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. History Located near the village of Tubber, County Clare and overlooking the Burren, Tubber GAA Club affiliated to the Clare County Board in 1885. The club fielded teams in both hurling and Gaelic football in the early years, however, emigration and political tensions resulted in the Tubber club stagnating for almost 35 years. There was a revival in 1923, when Gaelic football was abandoned, and the club contested several Clare JHC finals without success. UCD GAA or University College Dublin Gaelic Athletic Association club is a Dublin based Gaelic games club in University College Dublin. The UCD hurling club was founded in 1900 and boasted the mottos "Ad Astra" and "Cothrom Féinne". The first team was an amalgamation of students from UCD and Cecilia St. Although UCD had been playing Gaelic football unofficially since 1900, the official club history began in the season of 1911/1912. Fitzgibbon Cup
The Fitzgibbon Cup ( ga, Corn Mhic Giobúin) is the trophy for the premier hurling championship among higher education institutions (universities, colleges and institutes of technology) in Ireland. The Fitzgibbon Cup competition is administered by Comhairle Ard Oideachais Cumann Lúthchleas Gael (CLG), the GAA's Higher Education Council. Comhairle Ard Oideachais also oversees the Ryan Cup (tier 2 hurling championship), the Fergal Maher Cup (tier 3 hurling championship) and the Padraig MacDiarmada (tier 4 hurling championship).
