Sex Matters
''Sex Matters'' is a Canadian talk show that broadcasts on CP24 exploring many issues about human sexuality. The program is hosted by CP24's Cynthia Loyst. Live broadcasts of the program airs Thursday and Friday nights at 10:30 pm on CP24. CP24 also rebroadcasts the program every Saturday and Sunday nights at 10:30 pm. Star! also airs the program every Saturday and Sunday nights at 11:30 pm. The program first aired on February 11, 2010 on CP24. Cynthia Loyst
Cynthia Loyst is a Canadian talk show host and media personality. She currently co-hosts CTV's '' The Social'', along with three other women. Loyst is also the creator of Find Your Pleasure, an online hub to help readers find pleasure in their lives. Career Loyst's love for entertainment started at an early age. She discovered her love for cosplay when she would often dress up as male characters from ''Star Wars'' or ''Battle of the Planets'' at the age of six. Loyst studied at York University's film program, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. As well, she studied at York's Women/Gender Studies Department. During this time, she wrote a sex column for the independent magazine ''Rosco'' titled Pandora's Box. Loyst has appeared on both television and radio throughout the years. CP24
CP24 is a Canadian English-language specialty news channel owned by Bell Media, a subsidiary of BCE Inc. and operated alongside the Bell-owned CTV Television Network's owned-and-operated television stations CFTO-DT (CTV Toronto) and CKVR-DT (CTV 2 Barrie). The channel broadcasts from 299 Queen Street West in Downtown Toronto. It was first originally launched on March 30, 1998, under the name CablePulse24 by its owners CHUM Limited and Sun Media. The channel was named as an extension of CITY-TV ( Citytv Toronto)'s newscasts, which were then known as ''CityPulse''. CHUM acquired Sun Media's interest in 2004 after acquiring the assets of Craig Media. In 2006, Bell Globemedia acquired CP24 and its parent CHUM Limited, but regulatory limits in media ownership forced CHUM to sell off the Citytv stations to avoid conflicts with CTV stations in the same markets. ''SexTV'' is a Canadian documentary television series which explores many issues about human sexuality. The show premiered in 1998 which aired on Citytv and channels owned by CHUM Limited, and spun off a television channel called '' SexTV: The Channel'' in 2001. Airing in a late-night timeslot, the series was a news magazine covering a broad array of topics relating to sex and sexuality. The program was the subject of a complaint to the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council in 1999, after an advertisement for the show was perceived by a viewer as degrading to men because it implied that men think about sex every eight seconds. The complaint was dismissed in August 2000.
