The Seven Mountains () are seven mountains that surround the centre of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Bergen is often called 'the city between the seven mountains'. Løvstakken
Løvstakken is one of the Seven Mountains that surround the center of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The tall mountain is located between the Fyllingsdalen and Bergensdalen valleys on the Bergen Peninsula. Løvstakken and the forests nearby are popular hiking areas among the locals since it is essentially located in the central area of Norway's second largest city. Gullsteinen, a large hill located south of the summit of Løvstakken, is also part of the mountain massif and borders the protected forest area of Langeskogen. The neighbourhood of Løvstakksiden in Årstad borough, north of the summit, is named after the mountain. The neighborhood was historically a borough of Bergen, but it has more recently dissolved and its areas were merged with Årstad and Fyllingsdalen boroughs. Rundemanen
Rundemanen is a mountain in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Considered one of the Seven Mountains which surround the city, its elevation of makes it the second highest of them all. The mountain is a part of the same massif as the neighboring mountains of Fløyen, Blåmanen, and Ulriken, but is not easily visible from Bergen since it sits behind Fløyen. Still, Rundemanen's low-difficulty trails that offer scenic views of neighboring mountains and islands west of Bergen make them popular footpaths, only taking about 3-4 hours to traverse from Bergen's city center. Lyderhorn
Lyderhorn is a mountain in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is one of " De syv fjell", the seven mountains surrounding the city centre, and the starting location of Bergen Turlag's annual trip of the mountains. It is located by Liavatnet approximately west of the city center. Due to its prominent visibility from the seas, it has historically been a navigational mark for sailors. The tall Ørnafjellet is an adjacent peak, and below Ørnafjellet are the two lakes Skåleviksvatnet and Søre Skåleviksvatnet. Ulriken
Ulriken (or the older, ''Ålreken'') is the highest of the Seven Mountains () that surround the city of Bergen, Norway. It has a height of above sea level. Ulriken has an aerial tramway, Ulriksbanen, that can bring people to the top. At the top there is a TV tower and a restaurant. There is a network of trails along Ulriken, which is a popular hike with several paths up ranging from steep to not so steep. History One of the slopes of Ulriken, known as Isdalen ("Ice Valley"), is also nicknamed "Death Valley", due to the area's history of suicides in the Middle Ages, and more recent hiking accidents.
