Seton Hall High School
Seton Hall High School was located on 155 West Roe Boulevard in Patchogue, New York. Prior to 1952, the school was situated in bungalows on South Ocean Avenue. It opened in September 1937 and was closed in June 1974. Seton Hall was one of very few co-educational Catholic High Schools on Long Island, New York. The team mascot was the Eagle. The school motto was " Esse quam videri" meaning "To be, rather than to seem (to be)" and it appeared on the class rings of the school. The former campus is now home to St. Joseph's College. Patchogue (, ) is a village in Suffolk County, New York. The population was 11,798 at the time of the 2010 census. Patchogue is part of the town of Brookhaven, on the south shore of Long Island, adjoining Great South Bay. It is officially known as the ''Incorporated Village of Patchogue''. History Patchogue, which is approximately east of Manhattan, became incorporated in 1893. In 1812 there were 75 inhabitants in Patchogue according to ''The Brooklyn Eagle'', published in 1930. The Patchogue Former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) was operated from 1904 to 1926. Robert Phillips (born July 26, 1953, New York City) is an American classical guitarist. Early life Born Robert Michael Phillips, he is the son of Dr. Robert Warren Phillips and Dr. Irma Phillips who lived, although only briefly, in Valley Stream, New York. A few months after his birth his parents returned to his mother's native Puerto Rico, living in San Juan. ''Midnight Express'' is a 1977 nonfiction book by Billy Hayes and William Hoffer about Hayes' experience as a young American who was sent to a Turkish prison. When his sentence was extended to 30 years, he decided to make his escape. William "Billy" Hayes (born April 3, 1947) is an American writer, actor, and film director. He is best known for his autobiographical book '' Midnight Express'' about his experiences in and escape from a Turkish prison, after being convicted of smuggling hashish. He was one of hundreds of US citizens in foreign jails serving drug charge sentences, following a drug-smuggling crackdown by foreign governments. Background Hayes, an American student, was caught trying to smuggle four pounds (1.81 kg) of hashish out of Turkey on October 7, 1970. He was originally sentenced to four years and two months in a Turkish prison.
