Seth Halvorsen
Seth Michael Halvorsen (born February 18, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB). Career Halvorsen was drafted in the 30th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft by the Minnesota Twins as the 904th overall selection and then drafted again in the 19th round with the 565th overall pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2021 Major League Baseball draft but opted to not sign and play in college. Halvorsen played college baseball at the University of Missouri and the University of Tennessee. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the seventh round, with the 202nd overall selection, of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft. Halvorsen split his first professional season between the rookie–level Arizona Complex League Rockies, High–A Spokane Indians, and Double–A Hartford Yard Goats. The Arizona Complex League Rockies are a professional baseball team competing as a Rookie-level affiliate of the Colorado Rockies in the Arizona Complex League of Minor League Baseball. In baseball, a save ( SV or S) is credited to a pitcher who finishes a game for the winning team under certain circumstances. A save can be earned by entering a game in which his team is leading by three or fewer runs and finishing the game by pitching at least one inning without losing the lead; entering the game with the tying run in the on-deck circle, at the plate or on the bases and finishing the game; or by pitching at least three innings in relief and finishing the game regardless of how many runs your team was winning by when entering the game. In baseball, the bullpen (or simply the pen) is the area where relief pitchers warm up before entering a game. A team's roster of relief pitchers is also metonymically referred to as "the bullpen". These pitchers usually wait in the bullpen if they have not yet played in a game, rather than in the dugout with the rest of the team. The starting pitcher also makes their final pregame warm-up throws in the bullpen. Managers can call coaches in the bullpen on an in-house telephone from the dugout to tell a certain pitcher to begin their warm-up tosses. Relief pitchers are often assisted in their warm-ups by specialized coaches known as bullpen catchers.
