Serzha Lyfaria (Kyiv Light Rail)
Serzha Lyfaria ( uk, Сержа Лифаря; from 2000 to 2008, Saburova, from 2008 to 2019, Oleksandra Saburova) is a station on the Livoberezhna Line of the Kyiv Light Rail system. It was opened on May 26, 2000 and reopened after a significant modernization of the line on October 26, 2012. Serzha Lyfaria is located in between the Oleksandry Ekster and Teodora Draizera stations. Initially named in honor of Alexander Saburov, a Soviet partisan, it was renamed in 2019 in honor of Serge Lifar, a French ballet dancer and choreographer of Ukrainian origin. Livoberezhna Line (Kiev Light Rail)
The Livoberezhna line is the second line of the Kyiv Light Rail, located in the eastern part of Kyiv. The tram corridor was opened on May 26, 2000, rebuilt from 2010 to 2012, and reopened again on October 25, 2012. Trams No 4 and No 5 run along the Livoberezhna Line. At one point, the Kyiv City Administration proposed extending the Kyiv Metro system to Troieschyna by creating the Livoberezhna Line, although this proposal was scrapped in 2014 in favor of keeping the light rail system. Serge Lifar ( ua, Сергій Михайлович Лифар, ''Serhіy Mуkhailovуch Lуfar'') ( 15 December 1986) was a Ukrainian ballet dancer and choreographer, famous as one of the greatest male ballet dancers of the 20th century. Not only a dancer, Lifar was also a choreographer, director, writer, theoretician about dance, and collector. As ballet master of the Paris Opera from 1930 to 1944, and from 1947 to 1958, he devoted himself to the restoration of the technical level of the Paris Opera Ballet, returning it to its place as one of the best companies in the world. Livoberezhna line ( uk, Лівобережна лінія; literally ''left bank line'') was a proposed fifth metro line of the Kyiv Metro system, which was planned to serve the left bank neighborhoods of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. The line is typically colored sky blue on the maps. Kyiv Metro
The Kyiv Metro ( uk, Ки́ївський метрополіте́н, Kyivskyi metropoliten, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv that is owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivsky Metropoliten''.'' Soviet Partisans
Soviet partisans were members of resistance movements that fought a guerrilla war against Axis forces during World War II in the Soviet Union, the previously Soviet-occupied territories of interwar Poland in 1941–45 and eastern Finland. The activity emerged after Nazi Germany's Operation Barbarossa was launched from mid-1941 on. It was coordinated and controlled by the Soviet government and modeled on that of the Red Army. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a railway platform, platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or bus rapid transit, transitway. Alexander Saburov
Alexander Nikolayevich Saburov (russian: Алекса́ндр Никола́евич Сабу́ров; 15 April 1974) was one of the leaders of Soviet partisan movement in Ukraine and western Russia during World War II. Saburov was born on to a Russian peasant family in Yarushki, Vyatka Governorate (now part of Izhevsk, Udmurtia); he joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1932 and the NKVD in 1938. A few months after the German invasion of USSR in the autumn of 1941, Saburov organized first guerrilla units in Bryansk, Oryol and Sumy regions occupied by the enemy. His partisan unit numbered around 1800 men and during the winter of 1941-42 effectively harassed German troops operating behind the enemy lines.
