Sergio Mendoza Y La Orkesta
Orkesta Mendoza is a Latin music band from Tucson, Arizona. It was founded by singer and guitarist Sergio Mendoza in 2009. Through the use of Latin percussion, accordion, brass, and steel guitars, the band's style, dubbed "indie mambo", is a combination of ranchera, cumbia, psychedelic and indie rock. Biography Sergio Mendoza formed Sergio Mendoza y La Orkesta in 2009 out of a one-off tribute project to the Cuban mambo king Pérez Prado, which proved too much fun to stop. Later renamed the band's name to Orkesta Mendoza. In October, 2014, Orkesta Mendoza performed at WOMEX 14 Official Showcase Selection of World Music Expo 2014. Steel Guitar
A steel guitar ( haw, kīkākila) is any guitar played while moving a steel bar or similar hard object against plucked strings. The bar itself is called a "steel" and is the source of the name "steel guitar". The instrument differs from a conventional guitar in that it is played without using frets; conceptually, it is somewhat akin to playing a guitar with one finger (the bar). Known for its portamento capabilities, gliding smoothly over every pitch between notes, the instrument can produce a sinuous crying sound and deep vibrato emulating the human singing voice. Typically, the strings are plucked (not strummed) by the fingers of the dominant hand, while the steel tone bar is pressed lightly against the strings and moved by the opposite hand. Clarinet

Pachanga Presents is the first Latin-themed music, cultural arts and food festival originated in Austin, Texas, United States. It is a one-day festival that showcases Latino-created music, food, and works of art and their contributions to American culture. WOMEX
WOMEX (short for Worldwide Music Expo) is an international world music support and development project based in Berlin, whose main event is an exposition held annually in different locations throughout Europe. It integrates a trade fair, showcases, conferences, film screenings, networking sessions, and awards. Musicians and their labels have the possibility to make contacts for international touring and album distribution.
