Serbian White Eagles Football Club (/''Fudbalski klub Srpski beli orlovi'') is a Canadian semi-professional Association football, soccer team. The team is a member of the Canadian Soccer League, a Non-FIFA international football, non-FIFA sanctioned league. The team's home kit is all white commemorating the white double-headed eagle, double-headed Serbian eagle, eagle which appears on the flag of Serbia, Serbian flag while the away colours are national colours of Serbia, red-blue-white commemorating the tricolour (flag), tricolour of the Serbian flag. The colour white was also chosen as it symbolizes purity and innocence. The club also has teams in the CSL Reserve Division, Canadian Soccer League Reserve Division and the Ontario Soccer League. The ''Evening Independent'' was St. Petersburg, Florida's first daily newspaper. The sister evening newspaper of the '' St. Petersburg Times'', it was launched as a weekly newspaper in March 1906 under the ownership of Willis B. Powell. In November 1907, it became a daily paper as the ''St. Petersburg Evening Independent''. The newspaper was known for its "Sunshine Offer", which was first enacted in 1910 by Lew Brown as a way to publicize St. Petersburg as "The Sunshine City". Gustavo Peña Velasco (22 November 1942 – 19 January 2021) was a Mexican professional footballer and manager. Life Born in Talpa de Allende, Peña moved to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, with his parents when he was young. Gustavo Peña died of COVID-19 in Mexico City on 19 January 2021, at age 78, during the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico. Career He began playing football with local side CD Oro. 1973 National Soccer League Season
The 1973 National Soccer League season was the fiftieth season under the National Soccer League (NSL) name. The season began in May and concluded in late October with Toronto Hungaria defeating Toronto Croatia for the NSL Championship. Toronto Hungaria repeated their success by defeating Croatia for the NSL Cup, which marked the organization's first league double. Although Toronto Croatia was defeated in the postseason, they still managed to secure the regular-season title and qualified for the Canadian Open Cup. In the Canadian Open Cup final Toronto successfully defended the title for the third consecutive season by defeating Challenge Trophy finalists Toronto West Indies United. Toronto Croatia was scheduled to participate in the 1973 CONCACAF Champions' Cup against Club América, but the series of matches failed to materialize. Dragoslav Šekularac
Dragoslav Šekularac ( sr-Cyrl, Драгослав Шекуларац, ; 8 November 1937 – 5 January 2019) was a Yugoslav and Serbian professional footballer and coach. Nicknamed Šeki, he was quick and crafty with the ball, displaying creative skills which turned many heads. Possessing supreme self-confidence along with impeccable technical ability, he was one of the biggest showmen and crowd draws in the history of Yugoslav football. His enormous popularity throughout FPR Yugoslavia during the early 1960s transcended sports as he easily became one of the most recognizable individuals in the country.
