Serbian Hip-hop
Serbian hip hop is an umbrella term for all genres of hip hop music in the Serbian language. It sometimes also refers to any hip hop music made by Serbs, including instrumental hip hop, and rap songs by members of the Serbian diaspora, often in languages other than Serbian. Some of most prominent hip hop groups include VIP, Sunshine, p.pop Beogradski Sindikat, Bad Copy. Popular solo artists include Juice, Gru, Struka, Ajs Nigrutin, Marčelo, History Early roots Serbian hip hop first started in the early 1980s with the birth of b-boy crews. The first Serbian hip-hop record release was Degout EP by The Master Scratch Band, which was released by Jugoton in 1984. Croatian hip hop is a genre of music, and a culture that covers a variety of styles of hip hop music made in Croatia. Croatian hip hop was originally influenced by the American hip hop scene and introduced to Croatia in the mid-1990s. Croatian hip hop, particularly that originating from Rijeka and Zagreb in the 1990s, was mainly concentrated on social issues due to the corruptive system of government at the time. Bosnian hip hop is a style of music made in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although quite a new music style in Bosnia, it has nevertheless proven to be very popular. The Kosovo War (; sr-Cyrl-Latn, Косовски рат, Kosovski rat) was an armed conflict in Kosovo that lasted from 28 February 1998 until 11 June 1999.
