Estophile
Estophilia (from Greek: φίλος, ''filos'' - "dear, loving") refers to the ideas and activities of people not of Estonian descent who are sympathetic to or interested in Estonian language, Estonian literature or Estonian culture, the history of Estonia and Estonia in general. Such people are known as Estophiles. The opposite of Estophilia is Estophobia. The term particularly refers to the activities of the Estophile Movement of the late 18th to early 19th century, when Baltic German scholars began documenting and promoting Estonian culture and language. This movement played a crucial role triggering the Estonian Age of Awakening almost 100 years later, which eventually led to the Estonian Declaration of Independence in 1918, the Estonian War of Independence (1918–1920) and the foundation of the Republic of Estonia. Tuglas Society
Tuglas Society (Finnish: ''Tuglas-Seura'', Estonian: ''Tuglas Selts'') is a Finnish non-profit society to strengthen the cultural ties between Finns and Estonians. The society has eight local societies in Oulu, Lappeenranta, Lahti, Kotka, Hämeenlinna, Hyvinkää, Turku and Kuopio regions. The association organizes various cultural lectures, organizes group trips and organizes Finnish and Estonian language courses for Estonians and Finns. The club is based in Suvilahti, Helsinki and the CEO of the society is Jaana Vasama and the chairman of the Board is Kirsti Narinen. The best known of the Tuglas Society's events is the Martin Market, held at the end of November each year. The number of members is around 3,000. Order Of The Cross Of Terra Mariana
The Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana ( et, Maarjamaa Risti teenetemärk, sometimes translated as the Order of the Cross of St. Mary's Land) was instituted by the President of Estonia, Lennart Meri, on 16 May 1995 to honour the independence of the Estonian state. (The Latin name ''Terra Mariana'', meaning "Land of Mary", is a poetic synonym for Estonia, and designated the area which includes what is now Estonia in medieval times.) The Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana is bestowed upon the President of the Republic. Presidents of the Republic who have ceased to hold office keep the Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana. The Collar of the Order was used ''de facto'' as the badge of office of the President of the Republic, since Soviet authorities took the original presidential collar, that of the Order of the National Coat of Arms, out of Estonia after the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1940; it remains in the Kremlin in Moscow.
