''Sentimental Macchiato'' (センチメンタルマキアート) is the fourth studio album by Japanese rock band SID, released on February 20, 2008, by Danger Crue Records. The album's singles are "Smile", "", "" and "", all released in 2007. The last three were used as theme song for Japanese television shows, namely Special Quiz Project Sukuizu!, Megami no Hatena and 2-Ji tchao!, respectively. Composition As noted by CD Journal and Allmusic, the album's songs are diverse in musical genres. CD Journal summarized that ''Sentimental Macchiato'' is "basically pop rock music with sweet vocals", with the exception of the tracks "Migite no Spoon to Hatsukoi to Knife" and "Smile" which approach punk rock varieties and " Mitsuyubi", which the website claimed to have a "random rhythm". Sid (band)
is a Japanese visual kei rock band, formed in 2003 and signed to Sony Records. Background SID (シド) was founded in 2003 by vocalist Mao (ex-Shula) and bassist Aki (ex-Ram Rem). They were joined by two support members, guitarist Shinji (ex-Uranus) and drummer Yuuya (ex-Shula). The four of them released the band's first demo CD, ''Yoshigai Manabu 17-sai (Mushoku)'' (吉開学 17歳 (無職)), on mini-disc that August and soon after, they signed on with Danger Crue Records. Though SID technically began in 2003, the band considers January 14, 2004 the date of their 'birth' as it was announced at their show at the Meguro Rock May Kan that Shinji and Yuuya would be joining as official members. Mao (singer)
is a Japanese singer, known for being the lead singer of visual kei rock band Sid (band), SID and writer of all the lyrics. SID became popular in Japan in mid-2010 with the album ''Hikari (Sid album), Hikari'', which includes the anime songs "Monochrome no Kiss" and "Uso" with lyrics written by Mao. He began a solo career in 2016 using the name Mao from SID, debuting at the top 10 of Oricon charts. On July 3, 2021, he was appointed ambassador of his hometown, Kurume. Career 1995–2008: Early years and SID Mao joined his first band in high school and moved to Tokyo with the group. After creating a band called Dildo around 1995, he formed Shula in 1999. The band had three members (vocalist, guitarist and bassist) and had a pop-oriented musical style and visual kei costumes. The Oricon Singles Chart is the Japanese music industry-standard singles popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Chart rankings are based on physical singles' sales. Until 2017, Oricon did not track download sales. In Japan, physical sales decreased sharply in the 2000s, while download sales hit three to four times the amount of single sales. In November 2017, Oricon introduced its first digital songs chart, separate from its main physical singles chart. In November 2018, Oricon launched a streaming chart, and introduced a combined singles chart that utilizes physical single sales, downloads, and streams. Original Confidence Inc., the original Oricon company, was founded by the former Snow Brand Milk Products promoter Sōkō Koike in 1967. The Oricon Albums Chart is the Japanese music industry standard albums popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Oricon originally published LP, CT, Cartridge and CD charts prior to the establishment of the Oricon Albums Chart on October 5, 1987. The Oricon Albums Chart's rankings are based on physical albums' sales. Oricon did not include download sales until its establishment of the Digital Albums Chart on November 19, 2016. In November 2018, Oricon began to include streaming in its album rankings, introducing a combined album chart based on album-equivalent units. Charts are published every Tuesday in Oricon Style and on Oricon's official website. Every Monday, Oricon receives data from outlets, but data on merchandise sold through certain channels does not make it into the charts. Jazz Fusion
Jazz fusion (also known as fusion and progressive jazz) is a music genre that developed in the late 1960s when musicians combined jazz harmony and improvisation with rock music, funk, and rhythm and blues. Electric guitars, amplifiers, and keyboards that were popular in rock and roll started to be used by jazz musicians, particularly those who had grown up listening to rock and roll. Jazz fusion arrangements vary in complexity. Some employ groove-based vamps fixed to a single key or a single chord with a simple, repeated melody. Others use elaborate chord progressions, unconventional time signatures, or melodies with counter-melodies. Black metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. Common traits include fast tempos, a shrieking vocal style, heavily distorted guitars played with tremolo picking, raw ( lo-fi) recording, unconventional song structures, and an emphasis on atmosphere. Flamenco
Flamenco (), in its strictest sense, is an art form based on the various folkloric music traditions of southern Spain, developed within the gitano subculture of the region of Andalusia, and also having historical presence in Extremadura and Murcia.
