Sentai Studios
Sentai Studios is an American post-production studio of Sentai Filmworks, a subsidiary of AMC Networks located in Houston, Texas. The studio was founded in 1995 as Industrial Smoke & Mirrors, the in-house studio of A.D. Vision#ADV Films, ADV Films. It was renamed ADV Studios in 2005 when it merged with ADV's secondary studio, the Austin-based Monster Island; and then in 2006, when ADV began offering its services to other companies, the studio was also called Amusement Park Media before it was sold off by A.D. Vision in 2008. It was then renamed Seraphim Digital and was renamed to its current name in 2014. Today, Sentai Studios is best known for producing English-language dubs of Japanese anime series and live-action Japanese films released by ADV, Sentai, Section23 Films#Switchblade Pictures, Switchblade Pictures, and Section23 Films#Maiden Japan, Maiden Japan. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Shotaro Ishinomori. The manga was serialized in the Futabasha publication ''Weekly Manga Action'' from 1967 to 1970, then returned briefly in 1974. The story concerns Miléne Hoffman ("Mylene" in the English translation), a female cyborg who works as a secret agent. The Japanese title of the manga was ''009ノ1'', or "Zero Zero Ku-no-ichi", a pun on ''kunoichi'' (female ninja) and a reference to the main character's espionage occupation. The original manga was adapted into a live-action drama for Fuji Television in 1969 entitled ''Flower Action 009ノ1''. The manga was also adapted into a 12-episode anime series by Ishimori Entertainment and first broadcast on TBS TV in Japan in late 2006.
